Anne Hathaway gave maternity dressing a very different spin at the world premiere of The End of Oak Street in Los Angeles, US. Instead of hiding her growing bump beneath a traditional red-carpet gown, the actress leaned into it with low-rise jeans and a dramatic blue top that left her stomach on full display.
The look quickly became one of the talking points from the premiere, with fans divided over whether the unusual styling was a fashion hit or a miss. Hathaway, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, appeared at the 9 August event ahead of the film's theatrical release.

Hathaway's outfit was all about contrast. She wore wide-leg blue jeans with a light blue, sleeveless top featuring a high neckline, an asymmetrical high-low hem and a dramatic trailing train.
The shorter front of the top revealed her bare stomach, with her baby bump peeking above the very low waistband of the jeans. The long fabric at the back added plenty of drama, giving the otherwise relaxed denim look a distinctly red-carpet feel.

Fans Are Divided Over the Maternity Outfit
The daring styling quickly divided online commenters. Some loved Hathaway's confidence, while others were far less convinced by the combination of low-rise denim and the exposed bump.
'Why does her belly look off?' one person questioned. Another user even compared the perfectly rounded bump to a 'silicone baby bump' listing, saying: 'It looks straight off the Amazon.'
Others were not impressed with the overall look, with one calling the outfit a 'stylist fail'. Some complained that the low jeans, exposed stomach and cape-like top simply did not work together.
The jeans were a frequent point of criticism. One commenter said the bump itself was fine but felt that the jeans being worn so low made the silhouette look strange. Hathaway & Shulman Expecting Their Third Child
Hathaway confirmed that she was expecting her third child in June after pregnancy speculation followed photographs of her holidaying in Saint-Tropez.
She did not make a formal statement, but the actress shared the news herself on Instagram. In a short video, she revealed her bump while wearing a flowing white outfit and smiling at the camera. She captioned the post, 'x Baby, I'm yours x', referencing Barbara Lewis' 1965 song.
Hathaway and Shulman, whom she married in 2012, already share two sons, Jonathan and Jack. They have generally kept their children away from the spotlight.
Three Films Down, Another Premiere Awaits
The The End of Oak Street premiere is just the latest stop in an exceptionally busy year for Hathaway. She has already been promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2006 fashion favourite, as well as Mother Mary and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
Now, Hathaway is front and centre for The End of Oak Street, a sci-fi thriller directed by David Robert Mitchell and also starring Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery. It is due to open in cinemas internationally from 12 August, with its North American theatrical release following on 14 August.
