A bride has sparked outrage online after allegedly turning her wedding reception into a conversation-controlled event, with guests claiming they were stopped from discussing football, holidays and everyday life because the topics were not focused on the newlyweds.
The claims came from an anonymous Reddit user who said they attended the wedding as a plus-one and witnessed the unusual behaviour during the reception.
According to the guest, the ceremony and cocktail hour went smoothly, with friends and relatives enjoying the chance to reconnect. But the mood reportedly shifted during dinner when the bride began walking around the venue and stepping into conversations between guests.
At first, the attendee said they assumed she was simply being a welcoming host and checking in on everyone. However, they claimed her approach became increasingly uncomfortable when she allegedly began directing what people could discuss.

The anonymous guest claimed the bride later approached an older couple who were talking about a recent cruise they had taken.
According to the post, she allegedly told them: 'You'll have plenty of time to talk about holidays later today is about us.'
The attendee said the bride continued moving around the reception, allegedly redirecting conversations whenever guests discussed topics unrelated to the couple.
The user claimed people talking about buying homes or sharing work stories were interrupted, while others were encouraged to share memories involving the bride and groom instead.
One moment reportedly left the guest particularly uncomfortable when their girlfriend began catching up with a cousin she had not seen in a long time.
The bride allegedly approached them and suggested they share their favourite memory of the couple rather than continue their personal conversation.
After the wedding, the Reddit user said they asked their girlfriend whether they had misunderstood what happened.
They claimed she confirmed the bride had behaved similarly at the couple's engagement party.
'She did this at the engagement party too,' the girlfriend reportedly said.
