The online beauty community has been shaken by another wave of drama as makeup artist and influencer Cole Carrigan publicly called out beauty mogul Jeffree Star. His actions have added fresh fuel to an escalating internet backlash.
In a series of candid social media posts and a tell-all commentary video, Carrigan detailed his historical interactions with Star. The influencer offered a scathing critique of his former friend's behaviour and character.
@carrigancole This is my truth. My expirence. this isn’t “drama” or looking for clout. I’ve held this in from 2020 to now. If you wanna know everything you have to watch it all, it gets worse towards the middle/end #fyp

Escalating Backlash in the Beauty Sphere
The fresh allegations come amidst a difficult period for Star. The beauty mogul has faced mounting criticism following a public feud with influencer Jools Lebron.
The public feud between Star and Lebron began when the TikTok creator, who went viral for popularising the phrases 'very mindful' and 'very demure', launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for dental surgery.
Jeffree Star inserted himself into the situation by publicly criticising and mocking Lebron online, accusing her of 'begging for money'.
@carrigancole I really thought this man was gonna act unbothered bc im a “desperate psycho fa**ot” to him but he’s certainly been bothered ranting about me and calling me slurs all day so this is all I have to say to that and it’s done. #fyp

Lebron subsequently hit back at the makeup mogul. In her response, she reportedly called Star 'racist' for dragging her during what she described as a low moment.
According to commentary channel Spill Sesh, Star's recent confrontations on live streams have opened the floodgates for former associates to step forward.
Observers note that many creators now feel emboldened to share their personal experiences on what they describe as Star's bitter and hostile online demeanour.
Carrigan famously collaborated with Star five years ago. He posted a compilation of old videos filmed alongside the beauty mogul, declaring he was no longer afraid to speak out.
Responding to initial scepticism over the timing of his statements, Carrigan explained that fear kept him silent for half a decade. He cited the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) he signed, which has now expired.
Carrigan pointed to the career fallout experienced by creator Thomas Halbert in 2018 as a reason he feared immediate retaliation.

Serious Allegations and Personal Experiences
In his video, Carrigan reflected on his time visiting Star's mansion as a teenager from Texas. He alleged that upon his first arrival, Star casually uttered racial slurs, including the hard-R n-word, leaving him frozen in shock. Carrigan admitted feeling too intimidated to confront Star directly at the time, given Star's massive influence and volatile reputation.
Beyond racial slurs, Carrigan levelled several additional accusations against Star. According to Carrigan, Star frequently targeted his competitors. The influencer accused Star of harbouring intense jealousy toward younger, more successful influencers.
He pointed to Star's recurring online attacks against popular creators such as Mikayla Nogueira and Patrick Starrr. Carrigan raised concerns regarding Star's personal life and social circles, questioning his interactions with younger men and alleging that Star routinely pays people to maintain a social circle around him.
Carrigan also claimed Star's shift toward a conservative persona was a calculated business move to maintain a monetary audience as his core beauty brand declined in popularity.
'This man is so completely soulless that he turned himself conservative so he would still have an audience and make some kind of money because his makeup line has been flopping.' Carrigan said in his video.
Industry Reactions and Ongoing Fallout
Critics continue to question the dynamic between the two creators, noting that Carrigan's past involvement in online drama makes the situation complex.
However, commentators highlight that many of Carrigan's observations align with patterns already visible to the public, particularly Star's tendency to attack fellow creators whenever his own business ventures face scrutiny.
As public pressure continues to mount, Star has reportedly remained unbothered during recent live broadcasts, ignoring Carrigan's video entirely. Whether Star chooses to issue a formal rebuttal or maintain his silence, the controversy underscores the ongoing fracturing of the classic YouTube beauty community.
