Emily Cooper spins the fashion roulette wheel again as Mindy Chen and Sylvie Grateau stay perfectly on brand.
Netflix just offered the first look at Emily in Paris Season 6, and clearly, nobody told the cast that packing light was an option.
The sixth and final season will arrive on 24 December, bringing Emily Cooper and the Agence Grateau gang back for one last European adventure before saying au revoir. This time, Paris shares the spotlight with Greece and Monaco, with the newly released photos offering the first glimpse of the romantic drama, spectacular scenery, and haute couture.
Judging by the images, the wardrobes remain as important to the characters as ever. Lily Collins' Emily is still everyone's favourite maximalist, Ashley Park's Mindy Chen still considers subtlety a personal attack, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu's Sylvie Grateau still looks like she could either launch your career or end it while dressed in corporate chic.
Whatever adventures season 6 brings to the table, fans know that the true plotline of Emily in Paris is the fashion, as told by these three women.
Emily Cooper Spins the Fashion Roulette Wheel
Let's begin with the woman who has never met a print she wasn't willing to introduce to another print.
Emily's wardrobe has always operated on fearless maximalism and a fashion emergency visible from space. Her colours, patterns, and statement accessories are so fundamental to her relentlessly optimistic personality that toning her down completely would practically require a recast.
One first-look ensemble combines a wildly patterned fringed mini with pink-toed Mary Janes. While the French locals might think she's a Monet painting that escaped from the Louvre, this is actually one of Cooper's more subtle aesthetics. However, in the background, you'll notice that her outfit would be completed by a coat so bright, it's practically radioactive, and realise that the term 'subtle' now needs to be retracted.

In Greece, however, Emily looks surprisingly breezy in a red-and-white embroidered outfit beside the sea. The Aegean must have washed away her maximum Parisian flair and replaced it with a red and white take on off-duty Santorini aesthetics. Rather than pairing two items that clash hard enough to start a civil war, this beach ensemble brought out the character's innate elegance.
Then comes the frustrating part about Emily Cooper's fashion roulette game: when she dresses well, she dresses really well.
A black-and-white halterneck dress worn opposite Gabriel is polished and feminine, while another image finds her in a sculptural blue dress admiring a pair of molten-gold stilettos. Definitely a look that Lily Collins would be proud of.
And for evening? Emily goes full magpie in an oversized metallic brocade coat and sweeping black-and-gold skirt.
When Emily misses, she misses loudly, but when she hits? Well, let's just say that Paris Fashion Week might want to take notes.
Mindy Chen Has Never Heard of 'Casual'
If Emily plays fashion roulette, Mindy has a personal spotlight following her from the stage to the park.
Mindy has always looked prepared to headline a concert with seven minutes' notice, making her theatrical wardrobe the perfect extension of her equally unapologetic personality.
The new photos find her in a white honeycomb-cut halterneck look with a matching micro mini skirt. It's part Mediterranean holiday, part pop-star costume and entirely Mindy. In another image opposite Alfie, she immerses herself in the retro polkadot trend that is always welcome back into our wardrobes.

Back in Paris, she pairs a black corset top with a black-and-white leather mini skirt and another pair of elaborate lace-up heels climbing towards her thighs. If you direct your attention to the backrest of the bench, you'll see that her mini skirt comes with a matching biker jacket. Co-ord dressing obviously does not come with an expiration date.
On almost anybody else, it would be a stellar outfit for a red carpet event at the Grand Prix. On Mindy, it is likely Tuesday brunch before her weekly grocery run.
She doesn't dress for the occasion. The occasion adjusts accordingly.
Sylvie Grateau Is the Power Suit
And then Sylvie walks in and ruins everybody else's chances.
Where Emily piles things on and Mindy turns glamour into performance art, Sylvie has mastered the more dangerous art of knowing when the power lies in doing less.
One first-look image captures her in a strapless metallic gown with a geometric clutch. No styling gymnastics nor accessory convention. Just Sylvie looking like she has either arrived to accept an award or cancel somebody's contract.

Even when the wardrobe gets louder, it relies more on silhouette rather than patterns or prints. Her ivory column dress looks almost demure from a distance. Up close, a dramatic lattice of cut-outs travels from her chest to her ankle, exposing flashes of skin along her sides. The dress achieves a certain level of sultriness without letting the wearer look cheap. Showing skin can look sophisticated; all you have to do is know where to aim your scissors.
Emily dresses with optimism. Mindy dresses for the spotlight. Sylvie dresses like she already owns the building.

Then there is Princess Jane, Sylvie's eccentric aristocratic friend and Agence Grateau investor, who arrives looking like the entire Greek island personally requested an outfit. Her green tropical-print trouser suit comes dripping in emerald and silver.
The aristocracy may be cash-poor, but she is evidently rich enough to wear an entire ecosystem as a fashion statement.
One More Strut Around Paris
The clothes will have plenty of scenery to compete with when Emily in Paris returns on Christmas Eve.
The first-look photos also tease the return of Gabriel, Alfie, Luc, Julien, and Princess Jane, while the season's logline promises Emily will face a final choice involving her career, her heart, and the life she has built in Paris.
Whether she finally chooses Gabriel remains to be seen. But whether she'll finally choose the sensible outfit? Now, that's a plot twist.
