Megan Fox has pushed back against renewed scrutiny of her body and age after an Instagram user criticised the actor for sharing lingerie photographs as a 40-year-old mother. The Transformers star responded directly beneath the post, writing: 'Which one of my exes is this?'
The exchange followed Fox's 16 July 2026 upload, which showed her wearing a sheer black bandeau, lace underwear and a long veil in a gothic editorial shoot. It came more than a year after she welcomed daughter Saga Blade Fox-Baker with musician MGK on 27 March 2025 and marked another unapologetic moment in her return to social media.
Fox Answers Mum-Shaming Comment
Fox shared the photographs with a caption reframing the biblical story of Eve through a feminist lens. 'Men would have them believe disobedience was Eve's vice, when it was her greatest virtue,' she wrote on her verified Instagram account. The images included a glowing halo, prayer-like poses and a dark lingerie look that echoed the supernatural aesthetic associated with her cult horror film Jennifer's Body.

One commenter described the shoot as 'unbelievably embarrassing' for a 40-year-old mother and compared it to content posted by a teenager. Fox did not defend the styling or explain why she had participated in the shoot. Instead, her one-line reply redirected the criticism towards the person who posted it, while supporters rallied around her, with one writing: 'Not embarrassing at all.'
The exchange added another chapter to the intense public discussion surrounding Fox's appearance. Her looks have been analysed throughout a career spanning more than two decades, from her breakout role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers to her performance as Jennifer Check in Jennifer's Body. Fox has previously said that being presented as a sex symbol did not match the way she viewed herself.
Motherhood and Her Instagram Return
Fox is a mother of four. She shares sons Noah, Bodhi and Journey with her former husband, Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Brian Austin Green, while Saga is her first child with MGK, whose legal name is Colson Baker. MGK announced Saga's arrival through his verified Instagram account in March 2025, calling the newborn the former couple's 'little celestial seed'.
The actor largely stayed out of the public eye during the months after Saga's birth. During an October 2025 screening of Jennifer's Body at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, she acknowledged that she was still experiencing the practical realities of postpartum life. 'I just had a baby, and I have a lot of brain fog', Fox told the audience before adding that she had not slept properly in seven months.
Fox later returned to Instagram with a succession of fashion-led shoots featuring platform shoes, stockings, miniskirts and gothic accessories. The uploads reintroduced the dark Y2K aesthetic that has become closely connected to her public image.
Body Scrutiny Has Followed Her Career
Fox has repeatedly discussed having body dysmorphia and struggling to see herself as others do. In a 2023 cover interview, she said there had 'never' been a point in her life when she loved her body. Those remarks gave additional context to the constant commentary surrounding her weight, cosmetic procedures and fashion choices.
Her latest response did not disclose her weight, diet or exercise routine, and Fox has not attributed her current physique to postpartum weight loss. The verified exchange centred on whether her age and status as a mother should limit the photographs she shares. By answering the criticism herself, Fox kept the focus on the commenter's assumptions rather than turning her body into a subject requiring public explanation.
