Megan Thee Stallion takes over summer with 'Hot Girl Universe' Megan Thee Stallion/Instagram

Megan Thee Stallion has declared war on Christmas. In a new InStyle cover interview, the Houston rapper said she wants to do to summer what Mariah Carey did to December, claiming one date on the calendar for herself.

'I want to be the Mariah of Summer,' Megan told the magazine, naming 21 June as her answer to Mariah's festive takeover. 'As soon as summer starts, boom, it's Megan. I'm not playing.'

Behind the quote sits a real release calendar: a Coty fragrance sold through Ulta, size-inclusive swimwear that stretches to pet barkinis, and a masters-retaining Interscope deal, with drops timed to late spring around a repeating 21 June anchor.

Megan entered the fragrance market this year with 'Hot Girl Summer Eau de Parfum', a Coty collaboration blending coconut milk, orchid and vetiver, sold through Ulta as a 90ml bottle for $84 and a 10ml travel size for $29.

Her swimwear line launched with Walmart in May 2025 as an 18-piece, size-inclusive women's collection, then expanded by April 2026 into a men's 'Hot Boy Summer' range and a pet spin-off called 'Hot Dog Summer', with barkinis and dog tees under $13.

A tequila, a Popeyes franchise in Miami Beach and a Love Island USA capsule round out the portfolio.

Megan Thee Stallion–Interscope Deal Explained

The business groundwork got another boost in August, when Megan announced a partnership between her company, Hot Girl Productions, and Interscope Records.

Interscope handles global distribution and promotion, while Megan keeps full ownership of her masters and publishing. Trade reports suggest the deal trades a large advance for higher backend earnings and full creative control, built to compound streaming and licensing revenue every year.

That matters because Mariah's Christmas dominance works the same way: she owns a song that returns to charts, playlists and adverts each winter, earning royalties on repeat.

When Is the Tina Snow Album Coming?

The merchandise only works if the music delivers, and Megan confirmed a new album built around Tina Snow, the harder-edged alter ego from her 2018 EP.

She called the persona a kind of armour, one that lets her say things Megan Pete might otherwise hold back, while Megan Thee Stallion handles the public performing and Pete stays private.

No release date has been confirmed, but singles landing in late spring would line up with her 21 June target.

Fans Agree She's Already There

Reaction on X to the InStyle story has mostly sided with Megan. One widely shared reply read 'she already is', while another fan wrote 'they call it hot girl summer for a reason', pointing back to the 2019 hit that turned into a genuine cultural phenomenon.

A third commenter joked that Megan is also the reigning queen of Halloween memes, hinting her seasonal reach already stretches further than she's letting on.

Megan has three Grammys and three Billboard Hot 100 number ones behind her, so her talent isn't in question. The real test comes next year: whether a lead single or album lands in late spring, whether the fragrance gets a restock through Ulta, whether the swimwear and pet lines pick up new colourways, and whether any festival or tour dates fall deliberately around 21 June.
