Alison Hammond has proudly defended her relationship with 28-year-old David Puttnam, insisting their 22-year age gap is nobody else's business as she opens up about the love, happiness, and confidence she has found with her younger boyfriend.
The This Morning presenter, 51, has been dating Russian model and massage therapist David Puttnam since 2023, with the couple's romance attracting attention because of their two-decade-plus age difference.
While some have described David as Alison's 'toyboy', the television favourite has made it clear that she refuses to let outside opinions define their relationship.
Through a series of loved-up moments and public appearances, Alison and David have shown a relationship built on affection and support. The presenter recently revealed that she feels completely accepted by David, explaining that he loves her for who she truly is.
'I've got a lovely man in my life', Alison said. 'It's just easy. I think that's when you know you've got something special. He just sees me for who I am. We choose each other, every day.'
From their romance and age-gap discussions to Alison's personal transformation, these photos capture the moments that have shaped the couple's relationship and her new chapter of happiness.
Alison Hammond and David Puttnam's Romance Captures Attention
Alison and David's relationship began in 2023, and the couple quickly became a talking point due to their 22-year age difference.
David, a Russian model and massage therapist, has remained a supportive presence in Alison's life as she continues her successful television career and embraces a healthier lifestyle.
Despite the public interest in their romance, Alison has made it clear that their relationship is based on genuine affection rather than on seeking others' approval.
Addressing comments about their age gap and the attention surrounding David being labelled her 'toyboy', Alison dismissed the criticism and insisted that outside opinions would not affect their happiness.
'It's nothing to do with anyone else. Yeah, people are going to talk. People do. But that's their business, not mine', she said.
Her response showed her determination to enjoy her relationship without feeling pressured to explain or defend her personal choices.
Alison Hammond Reveals Why Marriage Is Not Needed
Although Alison and David appear committed to one another, the presenter has revealed that they are not currently planning to marry.
Rather than following traditional expectations, Alison explained that the couple are happy with the relationship they have built and do not need a wedding ceremony to prove their commitment.
'I don't think [there will be a wedding]. We don't need to! We're both cool', she told The Mirror.
For Alison, the strength of their romance comes from the everyday choices they make together rather than a formal celebration.
Her heartfelt comment that they 'choose each other, every day' reflects the way she views love, as a partnership built on trust, acceptance and support.
The presenter has also praised David for seeing her for who she is, suggesting that their connection is based on feeling comfortable and understood rather than their age difference.
Alison Hammond's Health Transformation Marks a New Chapter of Confidence
Alongside her relationship, Alison has also undergone a major personal transformation after previously revealing she reached 30 stone at her heaviest and received a pre-diabetes warning.
The health scare prompted the presenter to rethink her lifestyle, leading her to work with a personal trainer for five years and to make significant changes to her diet and fitness routine.
Alison admitted she once had a difficult relationship with food, particularly when it came to sweet treats.
'I've had a personal trainer for five years, even when I was at my biggest. But I had a childish mentality with regards to food, especially toffees – but now I'll only have a couple a day', she said.
She has since embraced activities including Reformer Pilates and circuit training to maintain her progress, describing exercise as something that leaves her feeling stronger and more energised.
Alison previously revealed her pre-diabetes diagnosis was particularly frightening because her mother had Type 2 diabetes.
'My mum had Type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. I thought "I have to be an adult about this". The sweets had to stop, and the fatty foods', she said.
Now focused on her health, happiness and relationship, Alison appears determined to live life on her own terms, celebrating her romance with David while refusing to let age-gap criticism define their love story.
