Benny Blanco goes on a 5-day pizza diet
Benny Blanco goes on a 5-day pizza diet to prove you can lose weight by eating anything @itsbennyblanco/TikTok

Benny Blanco lost 4.7 pounds eating nothing but pizza for five days. The music producer decided to eat nothing but pizza for five days in an experiment designed to prove that weight loss does not necessarily require surviving on salads and green juice.

His menu was magnificently uncomplicated: one large thin-crust Domino's pizza daily. No carefully portioned quinoa bowls nor enigmatic powders were stirred into water—just Benny Blanco versus five consecutive days of cheese, tomato sauce, and rapidly declining enthusiasm. And by some mystery, when he stepped back onto the scales, he was 4.7 pounds lighter.

Before anyone begins ordering five pizzas and calling it a wellness plan, however, Blanco's experiment was exactly that: a short personal experiment, rather than nutritional advice. Body weight can fluctuate for numerous reasons over several days, and surviving almost entirely on pizza is hardly a balanced long-term eating strategy.

Still, the result certainly gave leafy greens some competition.

Benny Blanco Started at 152.2 Pounds

Blanco documented the entire experiment on TikTok, beginning with a weigh-in of 152.2 pounds. He kicked off this video by saying, 'Today's day one of only eating pizza for five days straight to prove you can lose weight eating literally anything.'

His mission was to challenge the idea that only specific foods automatically determine whether somebody gains or loses weight.

For five days, his chosen food was pizza. At first, that sounds more like a prize rather than a price to pay in order to trim some pounds off.

By day three, reality had arrived with the delivery driver.

'I hate my life,' Blanco admitted on TikTok.

Two more days apparently did little to restore his relationship with mozzarella.

'I don't even remember myself as a human being,' he said on day five. 'Like, what was life before pizza?'

Somewhere, a salad likely said, 'I told you so'.

Selena Gomez Had To Watch the Pizza Spiral up Close

Perhaps the cruellest moment came during a date night with Blanco's wife, Selena Gomez.

The couple visited Sunset Tower Hotel, where Gomez enjoyed the restaurant's cuisine, while Blanco brought his pizza, staying loyal to the unconventional diet plan.

Imagine getting dressed for a romantic evening at an upscale hotel only to arrive carrying Domino's because you have committed yourself to an internet experiment.

Moreover, it has become evident that marriage truly means supporting each other through richer, poorer, sickness, health, and even self-imposed pizza captivity. Gomez continued to appear throughout the video, offering affection, including kissing Blanco on the neck.

Love may not conquer all, but it can make day four of compulsory thin crust slightly more bearable.

Five Days After the Pizza Diet

At the end of the experiment, Blanco stepped onto the scales again.

This time: 147.5 pounds. It put his reported loss at 4.7 pounds in five days.

'I just lost 4.7 pounds eating pizza,' he declared before concluding: 'Nothing matters, do whatever you want.'

What Blanco's stunt illustrates is that short-term changes on the scales can happen even while eating foods traditionally labelled 'bad'. Weight management is more complicated than declaring pizza the villain and lettuce the hero, or vice versa, just based on what the weighing scales tell you.

While the experiment was highly entertaining, nutritional quality matters for reasons that extend far beyond whatever number appears on a scale, and Benny Blanco did make a strong point about that.

The music producer appears to have learned another valuable lesson. You can love pizza deeply and still discover that five straight days together is enough to test the relationship. Ultimately, he had lost 4.7 pounds, but Blanco may never look at a Domino's pizza the same way again.
