The civil legal battle surrounding Sean 'Diddy' Combs has taken another turn after a male sex worker claimed his alleged travel arrangements for the rapper's so-called 'freak-offs' were disguised as legitimate work-related trips.
Newly filed court documents reportedly include travel records, hotel photographs and witness statements that the claimant says support his allegations that the true purpose of his journeys was deliberately concealed. The latest filings form part of an ongoing civil lawsuit seeking $20 million (£15 million) in damages from Diddy and singer Cassie Ventura, while adding further scrutiny to claims already under public attention following the music mogul's criminal trial.
Alleged Travel Was Presented as Business
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Clayton Howard, also known as 'Dave', alleges that trips arranged for him to travel between New York and Florida were presented as ordinary business travel rather than for sexual encounters.
Among the exhibits are flight itineraries showing economy-class bookings, including a November 2013 journey from New York to Miami via Charlotte costing $238 (£177), along with a separate Delta Airlines receipt from October 2014. The documents also contain photographs taken in December 2016 that reportedly show a modest hotel suite and hallway at an unidentified Miami Beach property.
Howard claims these travel arrangements were intentionally described in a way that concealed their true purpose from travel agents and other third parties.
Cassie's Previous Trial Testimony Revisited
The latest filing also references testimony previously given by Cassie Ventura during Diddy's criminal proceedings.
According to the court filing, Ventura testified that she contacted a travel agent while allegedly creating an alternative explanation for Howard's travel arrangements.
'I definitely reached out to his travel agent. I believe we just acted as if it was a new employee or somebody that was being interviewed or something,' she reportedly told the court.
Howard argues that this supports his allegation that the travel arrangements were intentionally disguised to avoid raising suspicion.
Civil Lawsuit Continues Despite Partial Dismissal
Howard's amended complaint acknowledges that he willingly accepted payment for sexual encounters as an adult. However, he alleges that the nature of those encounters later changed and involved deception, drugs, restraint and acts to which he says he did not consent.
While several claims in the lawsuit, including civil RICO allegations, were dismissed by a federal judge, four trafficking and sexual abuse-related claims remain active.
Howard is seeking $20 million in damages from Diddy and Cassie Ventura, in addition to other relief that could be determined if the case proceeds successfully through the courts.
The defendants have denied allegations made against them in various legal proceedings, and the civil case remains ongoing.
Public Exposure 'Destroyed' His Business, Howard Claims
Beyond the alleged encounters, Howard also claims the intense publicity surrounding Diddy's legal troubles has devastated his personal and professional life.
In court filings, he states that media attention connected to the case severely damaged his construction business, making it impossible to secure new contracts or maintain relationships with existing clients.
Howard further claims he has become financially dependent on family members after losing work opportunities, arguing that the widespread public exposure has irreparably harmed his reputation within the construction industry.
Contrast Between Public Image and Court Evidence
One aspect highlighted in the latest court exhibits is the apparent contrast between Diddy's luxury public image and the relatively modest travel arrangements detailed in the filings.
The records include commercial economy flights and standard hotel accommodation, rather than the private jets and lavish settings often associated with the music mogul during the years in question. Howard argues these details support his account of how the alleged trips were organised.
While the travel documents themselves do not establish liability, they form part of the evidence submitted in support of Howard's ongoing civil claims.
