Jennifer Lopez's first husband, Ojani Noa, has made explosive claims about the collapse of their marriage, alleging that he confronted Sean 'Diddy' Combs after accusing the rapper of having an affair with the singer.
Noa, who married Lopez in 1997 before their relationship ended just 11 months later, claimed he became suspicious of the pair's growing closeness while Lopez was working on her debut album, On The 6. In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, Noa alleged: 'She cheated on me with Diddy.'
The former Mr J-Lo also claimed he confronted the music mogul during a heated Hollywood showdown, saying he was not intimidated by the rapper. 'I confronted him and told him I wasn't scared of him', Noa claimed.
The allegations have resurfaced as Diddy continues to face public scrutiny following his recent legal troubles. However, Noa's claims remain allegations and have not been independently verified. Neither Lopez nor Diddy has publicly responded to his comments.
Ojani Noa Claims He Discovered Lopez's Alleged Romance With Diddy
Noa said his relationship with Lopez began as a whirlwind romance after they met in Miami, with the couple marrying in 1997 as her career was beginning to soar. But he claimed their marriage began to struggle as Lopez's fame grew and she spent more time working with Diddy, who was involved in producing tracks for her first album.
'They knew each other way before the media reported they did', Noa alleged. 'She started hanging out with Diddy more and more, and I started seeing her less and less.'
Noa claimed he began hearing rumours from friends in Miami who allegedly said they had seen Lopez and Diddy together. He said Lopez told him their relationship was only professional, but claimed his suspicions grew after photographs appeared showing the pair together.
'She would tell me it was just work. But then a picture appeared in the US magazines of her sitting on Diddy's lap at the pool of the Miami Beach Hotel', he alleged.
Noa claimed that the situation led to serious arguments between him and Lopez, which eventually contributed to the end of their marriage.
Former Husband Reveals Alleged Confrontation With Diddy
Noa also described what he called a dramatic confrontation with Diddy, claiming the pair came face-to-face at a Los Angeles party around the time Lopez and the rapper's relationship ended. He claimed he and Lopez had remained friends and were considering starting over when Diddy arrived at a birthday party for one of Lopez's assistants.
'It was the year she dumped him', Noa recalled. 'We were still friends, and we had decided to start over again. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves to be forgiven once.'
According to Noa, he approached Diddy and told him to leave, leading to a heated exchange. 'He asked me who I was, to which I replied, "F*** you". I told him he had slept with my wife', he alleged.
Noa claimed Lopez stepped between the two men in an attempt to calm the situation. 'Jennifer got in between us. She said he would leave, but he didn't', he said.
The former husband also alleged that weeks later, Lopez contacted him after Diddy allegedly appeared outside her Los Angeles home and that she was frightened by the incident. Noa claimed he went to the property and confronted the rapper again, and that police eventually arrived.
Lopez and Diddy later became one of the most talked-about celebrity couples of the late 1990s and early 2000s before splitting in 2001. Lopez and Noa divorced in 1998, marking the first of her four marriages, while she later married Cris Judd, Marc Anthony, and Ben Affleck.
