Amelia Dimoldenberg arrived at a Miu Miu event during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival looking every bit the polished fashion girl. But there was one detail that viewers simply could not get past, and that was the branding.

The outfit itself had plenty going for it, from its sleek silhouette to the clever office-inspired styling. Yet, instead of letting the look speak for itself, the prominent Miu Miu tag became the main talking point online. And fans were surprisingly united about what they thought of it.

Amelia Dimoldenberg Embraces Office Siren

Dimoldenberg attended Miu Miu's Women's Tales event in Venice on 5 September, where she embraced the brand's signature take on the office-siren aesthetic. The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is running from 2 to 12 September on the Lido di Venezia.

For the occasion, Dimoldenberg wore a fitted Miu Miu dress in dark blue and white, styled with a faux layered neckline that gave it the feel of elevated workwear. She completed the outfit with tortoiseshell Miu Miu spectacles, a black mini bowling bag and the label's footwear.

The styling was polished without looking overly serious, which made sense for Dimoldenberg's playful fashion persona. But sitting prominently on the dress and even on the eyeglasses was a Miu Miu tag that was impossible to miss.

And, for some viewers, that was precisely the problem.

Fans Have One Major Complaint

The reaction was not really about Dimoldenberg. In fact, fans appeared to love how she wore the dress. It was the very obvious branding that had people questioning Miu Miu's approach.

'Miu Miu needs to calm down on the branding,' one person commented. Another asked: 'Why is Miu Miu so tacky with these tags?'

Another fan put it even more bluntly: 'Right? She makes the dress look amazing and then there's that awful sticker. Ugh!' Someone else thought the detail made the dress look as though it had been put on backwards.

One particular user compared the aesthetic to '2016 Calvin Klein underwear,' referencing the era when the brand's instantly recognisable logo waistband became a deliberately visible part of outfits rather than something meant to stay hidden.

This is not the first recent Miu Miu look to get people debating the label's approach to branding.

Joey King also wore Miu Miu for the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 in August. Her sheer, romantic look became a subject of conversation, particularly because the styling deliberately incorporated visible underwear and Miu Miu branding.

Miu Miu vs Quiet Luxury Trend

The criticism lands at an interesting time for fashion, particularly with quiet luxury continuing to influence how people dress. The trend is built around understated silhouettes, quality materials and discreet or virtually invisible branding.

Miu Miu, meanwhile, has never been afraid of making its identity obvious. Its playful approach often relies on recognisable logos, statement accessories and details that deliberately attract attention.

That's almost the opposite of quiet luxury. Where the latter says: 'If you know, you know,' Miu Miu's more visible approach says: 'Yes, it's Miu Miu.'
