Jared Leto's behaviour while filming Tron: Ares has come under fresh scrutiny after a production source claimed the actor made a string of unusual demands on set. He allegedly insisted that cast and crew avoid eye contact with him, while also maintaining a fish-only diet that reportedly led to an extraordinary request involving a fisherman.
The bizarre set claims come as separate and much more serious allegations involving Leto have resurfaced following the release of a BBC documentary. Several women have accused the actor of sexual misconduct dating back years, which he has strongly denied.
The two stories are not presented as connected. And despite the recent claims, an insider specifically said they never witnessed Leto behaving sexually inappropriately while working on Tron: Ares.
Inside Jared Leto's Reported On-Set Rules
According to a production source who spoke exclusively to Page Six, Leto allegedly made several unusual requests during the making of Tron: Ares. One of the strangest was reportedly his demand for no eye contact of any kind from people working around him. The source also claimed that Leto refused to speak out of character, something they linked to his well-known approach to method acting.
Then there was the fish.
The source said that Leto was following a diet consisting only of fish during filming and wanted a fisherman brought onto the production to catch and prepare fresh fish for him every day. The studio reportedly did not end up employing a full-time fisherman, but the production reportedly 'did scramble' to explore whether it could actually happen.
Women Detail Alleged Encounters With Actor
The reports about Leto's on-set demands emerged just as a documentary brought a series of sexual misconduct accusations back into the headlines. Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, released on 29 July, featured women who described alleged encounters with the actor between 2002 and 2016. Some of the women said they were teenagers at the time.
One woman claimed that Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another said she had sex with him in California when she was 17, while a third alleged that he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. Another woman claimed he made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16.
The accounts were reportedly corroborated through people who had been told about the alleged encounters at the time, as well as photographs and messages in some cases.
The documentary follows a 2025 Air Mail investigation in which nine women accused Leto of sexual impropriety. That report also examined claims involving younger women, while noting Leto's denial of the claims.
Meanwhile, Leto has rejected the accusations. In a statement following the controversial documentary, he said: 'I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,' adding that the claims were 'absolutely and categorically false'.
Jared Leto Faces Renewed Scrutiny
The Tron: Ares stories have certainly added an unusual chapter to the conversation around Leto, with the alleged fisherman request and no-eye-contact rule sounding more like Hollywood folklore than an ordinary film-set routine. Still, the claims remain allegations from unnamed sources, and there is no indication that the production reports establish wrongdoing.
The sexual misconduct accusations are a separate matter and have been firmly denied by Leto. With the recent documentary putting multiple accusers' accounts back in the public eye, the actor's response is now being scrutinised alongside years of earlier allegations.
