Joey King looked like she had stepped straight out of a fairytale at the London premiere of Practical Magic 2. The actress arrived in a pale butter-yellow Miu Miu gown covered in delicate floral details, giving the whole look a soft, romantic feel.
But while King certainly caught attention on the red carpet, not everyone was enchanted by the styling. Her sheer gown deliberately revealed matching underwear underneath, and that detail quickly became the biggest talking point among fans.

Joey King joined Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Maisie Williams at the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 on 26 August. The event took place at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square ahead of the sequel's September release.
For the occasion, King chose a custom Miu Miu gown in a pale butter-yellow shade. The sheer chiffon design featured an empire waist, short cap sleeves and a scoop neckline, with tiny white floral appliqués scattered across the bodice and skirt.
The transparent layer was styled over a matching high-waisted yellow underwear set, leaving them clearly visible beneath the floaty fabric. The matching pastel yellow pointed-toe pumps kept the colour story going.
The result was undeniably romantic, but the visible Miu Miu logo on the underwear became difficult to ignore.

Fans Say One Detail Ruins the Look
Fans had plenty to say about the outfit, and the reaction was far from unanimous.
'I love the dress but the visible underwear ruins it,' one person wrote. Another felt the lingerie should have been made more whimsical to fit the delicate feel of the gown.
The visible Miu Miu branding also proved controversial. One commenter said: 'The visible tag ruins the look for me. I get they want to show off the brand but there's something to be said for subtlety.'
Others thought the styling could have worked with a different layer underneath. One fan suggested a sexy, semi-sheer slip would have blended the ethereal dress with the sheer trend without making it look like underwear from another era.
Then there were those simply tired of naked dressing altogether. 'It looks like something you'd wear to the beach as a coverup... I'm tired of this trend,' one online user wrote.

The naked dress is essentially a sheer or highly transparent outfit designed to reveal substantial areas of skin or create the illusion of barely wearing anything. It has been a recurring fashion statement for decades and has become especially popular on celebrity red carpets.
Stars including Cher, Kate Moss, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez have all worn variations of the sheer or naked-dress trend over the years. Cher's famously transparent Bob Mackie look at the 1974 Met Gala remains one of the most recognisable examples.
Joey King Joins 'Practical Magic 2'
Joey King's appearance was part of the promotional push for Practical Magic 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the 1998 cult favourite. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, nearly 30 years after the original film.
King plays Kylie Owens, one of Sally's daughters, alongside Maisie Williams as Antonia Owens. The sequel brings the next generation of the Owens family into the story, with the returning cast also including Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest.
