Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, have finally broken their silence after nearly two years away from the public spotlight. While both reflected on the lengthy legal battle involving Blake Lively, it was Emily's candid remarks that quickly drewc attention.

Looking back on the ordeal, Emily said it felt 'disguised as a fight for women' as she opened up about the emotional toll the dispute had taken on their family. She also explained why they chose to remain silent until the legal proceedings had come to an end.

Emily Finally Shares Her Side

The couple appeared together in a nearly five-minute Instagram video released on Wednesday, marking their first public comments since the legal battle surrounding It Ends With Us came to an end earlier this year. While Justin explained that they had often wanted to speak, he said something always told them it was not yet the right moment.

Emily agreed, saying the family had been carrying significant emotional pain behind the scenes. 'There has been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family, which also makes it hard to speak', she said, adding that now felt like the right time because the legal process had reached its conclusion.

Emily's Boldest Remark

The most talked about moment came when Emily reflected on trying to make sense of everything that had happened. She said the family had spent countless hours asking themselves how the situation had unfolded, before adding that it seemed to be 'disguised as a fight for women'.

Emily did not expand further on the remark, but she insisted that 'the truth and the facts have spoken for themselves'. Her comments immediately stood out as the strongest statement either of the Baldonis has made since the dispute began.

The Legal Battle Explained

The conflict began in late 2024 when Blake Lively filed legal action against Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios. She accused him of sexually harassing her during the filming of It Ends With Us and claimed she faced retaliation after raising concerns about the working environment. Baldoni strongly denied the allegations and responded with a $400 million counterclaim against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion.

A judge later dismissed several of Lively's claims, including those brought under the Civil Rights Act because she had worked as an independent contractor rather than an employee. Baldoni's counterclaim was also dismissed, before both sides eventually reached a settlement on the remaining issues shortly before the trial was due to begin.

Following the settlement, Lively maintained that bringing the case had been the last thing she wanted but said she felt compelled to act because of what she described as retaliation after requesting a safe working environment.

The Decision To Stay Silent

He said there had been 'so many painful things' said over the past two years, creating what he described as unnecessary noise. Rather than responding publicly, the couple chose to let the legal process run its course, believing it was the right approach despite the growing attention surrounding the case.

Although they admitted there was plenty they wanted to say, Justin revealed that every time they considered recording a public message, it never felt like the right moment. He said they ultimately waited until the legal battle had come to an end before sharing their side of the story.

Family Became Their Main Focus

Away from the courtroom and public attention, the couple said their focus shifted entirely towards their children, close friends and faith. Justin admitted that healing has not been straightforward, saying recovery from trauma changes from one day to the next.

He added that the experience had forced them to rethink what truly matters in life. He also thanked supporters who defended them throughout the controversy, saying many people became 'our voice' while they remained silent.

Looking Ahead With Gratitude

Despite describing the past two years as deeply painful, both Justin and Emily ended their message on a hopeful note. Emily said gratitude had helped carry the family through their darkest moments, even though it did not erase the injustice and pain they believed they had experienced.

Justin echoed that sentiment, saying they now feel surrounded by love from friends, family and supporters. While the couple hinted there is still much more they could say about the ordeal, they made it clear that, for now, their priority is continuing to heal and spending time with their children.
