Mckenna Grace Disney princess dream
Mckenna Grace clarifies her decision to avoid nude scenes is about personal comfort, not her Disney princess dream @mckennagraceful/Instagram

Mckenna Grace has challenged headlines that link her reluctance to perform nude scenes with her ambition to become a Disney princess, stating the two are unrelated. She explained in an Instagram story that her decision is based on personal boundaries rather than her future career aspirations.

Grace shared her response directly to a screenshot of Variety's post, which featured the headline: 'Mckenna Grace Rejects "Nudity or Hypersexual Things" in Acting Roles Because "My Dream Is to Be a Disney Princess Someday."'

'The two quotes being used right now in these titles are unrelated,' she wrote, disputing the connection made between her comments in a recent interview.

Mckenna Grace declines acting roles with nudity and hypersexuality because 'my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday.'

Grace Clarifies Her Position

Grace explained that her reservations about nude scenes are based on personal comfort, while her ambition to be a Disney princess is a separate professional goal.

'I'm not uncomfortable doing nude scenes/hypersexual roles simply because "I want to be a Disney princess,"' she said. 'It's just because of my own personal boundaries and the level of comfortability I have with that sort of thing right now at this point in my life!'

The actress also questioned the level of attention the subject received. She described the discussion as 'silly' and suggested other 'important' matters deserve more public attention.

Original Interview Comments

The headlines followed Grace's 2 November interview with Cosmopolitan, in which she discussed the types of acting roles she would decline. She stated she avoids nudity and highly sexualised material, while acknowledging that other performers may choose differently.

'At this point, I definitely don't do nudity or very hypersexual things. I respect anybody who can, but it's terrifying to me,' she said. 'I don't know if that'll ever change. It's not like I only do wholesome things–my character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in Scream–but my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday.'

Her response combined her personal reservations with her Disney ambitions. As a result, several entertainment publications, including Variety, linked the two in their coverage.

Grace Honours Katniss With Fiery Gown

At the Berlin screening of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping on Monday, 2 November 2026, Grace wore a custom red-and-black Cong Tri gown. Its design drew inspiration from Katniss Everdeen's 'girl on fire' chariot dress from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The gown had a fitted corset bodice decorated with red-and-gold embellishments. Its voluminous pleated skirt faded from black to orange and crimson.

She further emphasised the reference by lifting and twirling the skirt, echoing Katniss' iconic chariot entrance during the 74th Hunger Games opening ceremony. She completed the look with blonde curls in a braided headband, winged eyeliner, and warm-toned makeup.

Grace's Acting Career

Grace began acting at around five and has since appeared in horror, drama, and science fiction productions. Her credits include Gifted, I, Tonya, The Haunting of Hill House, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the Scream franchise.

She is currently preparing for the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, in which she plays twin sisters Maysilee and Merrilee Donner. The film, based on Suzanne Collins' novel, is scheduled for release in cinemas on 20 November 2026. Grace also recently joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming Scooby-Doo: Origins, playing Daphne.
