McKenna Grace has made it clear that she is not willing to take on every acting role that comes her way, particularly when it involves nudity or highly sexualised scenes. The 20-year-old actress has earned praise from fans for her comments and revealed which role she hopes to play next.
Known for taking on everything from family dramas to horror films, Grace has built an impressive career since starting out as a child actress. However, as she continues to transition into more adult roles, the Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping star is making it clear that she wants to remain comfortable with the characters she portrays.
Stance on Nudity
In her interview with Cosmopolitan, Grace was asked whether there were any roles, either within or outside established fandoms, that she would turn down. The actress did not hesitate to explain where she currently stands on nudity and highly sexualised performances.
'At this point, I definitely don't do nudity or very hypersexual things', she said. 'I respect anybody who can, but it's terrifying to me. I don't know if that'll ever change'.
Grace also clarified that avoiding sexualised roles does not mean she is only interested in wholesome characters. She explained: 'My character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in Scream', where she suffers a particularly gruesome fate at the hands of the masked killer.
The actress also revealed that one of her ambitions is to play a Disney princess someday. While she has yet to portray one, she previously voiced Bella in Disney's animated series Elena of Avalor, which follows the adventures of a young princess.

Winning Fans' Support
Grace's remarks prompted supportive reactions from fans, with many applauding her for being open about what she does and does not want to do in her career. Several commenters said that actors should never feel pressured to accept roles that make them uncomfortable.
'Good for her for setting boundaries in an industry that constantly pushes actors past their comfort zone', one person wrote. Another added: 'As she should!! Set boundaries for yourself diva'.
Others praised the actress for knowing what she wants at this stage of her career, arguing that she should not have to take on increasingly revealing roles to prove that she has grown up. One commenter said: 'It's good to see someone has chosen the dignity over easy fame'.
Her history as a child actress also came up in the discussion, with some fans saying they still associate her with her younger roles. One person wrote: 'Good because I still see that little girl in Gifted'. Another said: 'shes been acting since she was a child. it would just be wierd for both crews and audiences'.

Inside Her Acting Career
Despite her reservations about nudity, Grace has never shied away from emotionally demanding, dark or physically challenging characters. Her filmography includes several horror and psychological thriller projects that show a very different side to the actress.
In the horror film Annabelle Comes Home, she played Judy Warren, who becomes caught up in a terrifying night involving a possessed doll. She also starred in The Bad Seed, playing Emma Grossman, a seemingly innocent young girl hiding a disturbing side.
Her television work includes The Handmaid's Tale, in which she played Esther Keyes, a teenager subjected to abuse in Gilead. The performance earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
More recently, Grace appeared in Scream 7 as Hannah Thurman, whose gruesome encounter with Ghostface was among the film's particularly brutal moments. She also played Phoebe Spengler in the Ghostbusters films, demonstrating her ability to move between horror, comedy and adventure.
Her latest major project is The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, in which she portrays Maysilee Donner, a District 12 tribute in the story set before the original Hunger Games films. The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 20 November 2026.
