Meghan Markle's reported phone number leak has prompted questions over the security arrangements surrounding the Sussexes' return to the UK, with one Reddit commenter asking: 'Did they fire their security when they moved to the UK? Who is advising them?'

The question emerged after Meghan reportedly joined a WhatsApp group for parents at the school attended by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with a screenshot from the chat subsequently being shared outside the group, reportedly exposing her phone number.

The incident comes at a particularly sensitive time for Prince Harry and Meghan, who recently moved their family back to Britain after spending around 6 years in California.

The Sussexes' Return to the UK Becomes More Complicated

Their return has already placed their security arrangements under renewed scrutiny.

The couple's children were withdrawn from their first UK school after just two days following concerns from their security team about the journey, including heavy traffic, the distance between the school and the family's home and the difficulties of keeping the family and security vehicles together.

According to The Guardian, RAVEC is conducting separate risk assessments of Harry and Meghan following their return to the UK as full-time residents.

Harry's security review began in July 2026, while the new assessment represents Meghan's first since the couple stepped back as working royals in 2020. RAVEC has also asked the couple to provide details of their schedules and daily routines as part of the assessment.

Against that backdrop, the reported phone-number leak has become another point of discussion among royal watchers.

Some Reddit users questioned whether the incident should have been described as a security matter at all.
