Miranda Kerr looks back on her Victoria’s Secret Angel years with gratitude MirandaKerr/Facebook

Miranda Kerr has explained why she turned down an invitation to return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, choosing instead to look back on her years with the lingerie brand with gratitude. The Australian supermodel, 43, was invited to participate in the 2026 show, marking 20 years since her runway debut in 2006.

In an Instagram post shared on Saturday, 17 October, Kerr reflected on the friendships and memories she made during that period and explained why she felt it was right to leave it in the past. Since her Victoria's Secret Angel years, Kerr has expanded her career into skincare and entrepreneurship while continuing to make selected appearances in fashion.

Miranda Kerr Explains Victoria's Secret Snub

In her Instagram post, Kerr reflected on reaching the 20-year milestone since her first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. 'Looking back with so much gratitude for the friendships, the magical memories and for everyone who made that chapter of my life so special,' she wrote.

She also acknowledged the invitation to return for this year's event, describing it as meaningful given the anniversary. 'It meant so much to be invited to return this year, especially as it marks 20 years since my first show,' Kerr said.

The model ultimately decided that she did not want to reopen that part of her career. 'I ultimately felt in my heart it was right to cherish this chapter as it was,' she added, while sending her support to those involved in the show. Victoria's Secret responded warmly to Kerr's message, reinforcing her lasting connection to the brand and its history.

Looking Back on Her Victoria's Secret Angel Years

Kerr became one of the recognisable faces of Victoria's Secret during her time as an Angel, appearing alongside other prominent models in the brand's runway shows and campaigns. Her first appearance on the Victoria's Secret runway came in 2006, when she was 23. The opportunity helped establish her profile internationally and became an important part of her modelling career.

She went on to become a Victoria's Secret Angel, a title associated with the lingerie company's most prominent models. Her time with the brand formed part of a career that included international fashion campaigns, magazine covers and runway appearances.

In 2013, reports emerged that Kerr's Victoria's Secret Angel contract would not be renewed. However, the brand publicly rejected negative reports about her and said it remained open to working with her. She last walked in the brand's fashion show in 2012.

Miranda Kerr Has Continued To Work in Fashion

Although Kerr has stepped back from the Victoria's Secret runway, she has continued to make selective appearances in the fashion industry. In September 2026, she returned to the runway at Paris Fashion Week for Stella McCartney's Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear show. The appearance marked a notable moment in her modelling career after years of focusing on other professional and personal commitments.

Kerr has also attended major fashion events, including the 2026 Met Gala, where she appeared in a Dior design by Jonathan Anderson. Her recent appearances demonstrate that she has not completely left modelling behind. Instead, her work has evolved, with opportunities extending beyond the lingerie runway that helped make her internationally famous.

From Supermodel to Skincare Entrepreneur

Away from modelling, Kerr is the founder of KORA Organics, the skincare company she launched in 2009. The business grew out of her interest in wellness and organic skincare, eventually becoming a significant part of her professional life. Kerr has remained closely involved with the company while continuing to take on selected fashion and brand commitments.

Her career has therefore expanded beyond modelling, giving her opportunities to work as an entrepreneur while maintaining a presence in the fashion and beauty industries. Kerr has also spoken about the importance of family in her life. She shares her eldest son, Flynn, with actor Orlando Bloom and has three younger sons with her husband, Evan Spiegel, the co-founder and chief executive of Snap Inc. Balancing motherhood, business and occasional modelling work has become an important part of her life, alongside the international career she established in her twenties.

Why Kerr Wants To Keep That Chapter Closed

Kerr has previously discussed her changing perspective on returning to the Victoria's Secret runway. In a 2025 interview with Stellar magazine's Something To Talk About podcast, she explained that the prospect of modelling lingerie again no longer felt right for her.

Reflecting on the possibility of returning, she described her Victoria's Secret years as a distinct period of her life, comparing the experience to going to college. She explained that she had been more open and carefree during that stage and no longer felt she was in the same place personally.

Her latest Instagram message echoes that sentiment. Rather than revisiting a defining period of her career for its anniversary, Kerr has chosen to remember it with appreciation. The decision does not mean she has abandoned fashion altogether. Her recent runway appearance for Stella McCartney shows she remains open to select opportunities, while her comments make clear she did not want to pursue a return to Victoria's Secret this year.
