Molly-Mae Hague has admitted she is battling imposter syndrome despite building a successful fashion business, securing lucrative brand partnerships and becoming a mother of two. The 27-year-old influencer revealed that she has been questioning herself more than ever recently, with her tendency to overthink making it difficult to enjoy her achievements.
Her candid confession comes as Molly-Mae juggles her fashion label Maebe, her multi-million-pound partnership with Adidas and raising her two young children with partner Tommy Fury. Despite her professional success, she admitted that she sometimes puts so much pressure on herself that she forgets to appreciate how far she has come.
Molly-Mae Opens up About Imposter Syndrome
Taking to Instagram this week, Molly-Mae opened up about her struggle with imposter syndrome, admitting that the feelings had become particularly difficult recently. She explained that her tendency to overthink often makes her question herself rather than appreciate her achievements.
She wrote: 'I've actually been feeling [imposter syndrome] more than ever recently myself and I'm not really sure why. I think I'm such an overthinker that sometimes I put so much pressure on things that I forget to just enjoy them! I'm so guilty of this'.
The influencer also revealed how she has been trying to change her perspective and appreciate her circumstances rather than constantly worrying about expectations. She added: 'I keep reminding myself that we're literally just living on a big floating rock in space and that I need to take a step back and just appreciate how blessed I am to be where I am'.
Molly-Mae acknowledged that her overthinking can make her question almost everything, adding: 'Overthinking is what will make you question everything! I'm terrible for it'.
Her admission comes during a busy year in which she welcomed her second child, son Midas, with Tommy. The couple are also parents to three-year-old daughter Bambi, and Molly-Mae returned to work just two weeks after giving birth this summer while continuing to manage her business commitments.
Public relations expert Luana Ribeira suggested that managing several ventures while remaining the public face of different businesses could create considerable pressure. The founder of Dauntless PR said that each venture requires time and attention, and advised Molly-Mae to consider which responsibilities could be delegated to her team.
Molly-Mae's Changing Appearance and Motherhood
Alongside her growing business commitments, Molly-Mae has been navigating changes in her personal life and appearance. In a recent vlog, she revealed that her signature blonde hair had been gradually turning brunette following her second pregnancy, leaving her uncertain about whether to maintain her familiar look or embrace a darker shade.
She told viewers: 'I'm so at an identity crisis right now'. She also described feeling like a 'different person' in reference to her changing hair and appearance.
Luana explained that a celebrity's appearance can become closely associated with their personal brand, meaning even a change in hairstyle can affect their confidence. She said: 'Changing your look can have such an impact on your brand as a celebrity. Especially when a particular look has become something people immediately associate with you. It can really affect how you feel about yourself'.
Molly-Mae's personal life has also undergone significant changes. She and Tommy announced their split in 2024 before reconciling the following year and subsequently welcoming Midas.
