The search for the next James Bond has officially entered its favourite phase: speculation.
Since Daniel Craig's final outing as the iconic superspy in No Time to Die, the question of who will inherit the 007 title has been circulating with the persistence of a well-mixed martini. While no official announcement has been made yet, reports suggest producers might be casting a younger actor this time around.
Whether fiction, fact, or manifestations by fandoms, here are the names currently making the rounds.
Callum Turner: 'George Clooney's Pick'?
If rumours are to be believed, Callum Turner might already be slipping into the tux.
According to media reports, George Clooney has called the Fantastic Beasts actor the 'perfect guy' to pick up the James Bond baton...or martini glass, so to speak.
Turner's presence is polished and his acting range is versatile, backed by showstopping roles in Masters of the Air and The Boys in the Boat. Add his wife, Dua Lipa, into the mix, and the optics alone are very 007-coded.
Still, until producers confirm anything, this remains firmly in rumour territory.
Louis Partridge: The Surprise Contender
At 23, Louis Patridge represents the much younger direction producers are allegedly considering.
In a recent interview, the Enola Holmes star reportedly addressed the speculation with refreshing honesty, admitting he had not really pictured himself as Bond. That changed slightly when he learned he was being considered for the part.
While he may not be the traditional Bond pick, the idea of a more youthful 007 is clearly on the table, and would most likely speak to a whole new demographic.
Considering his sleuthing skills as Viscount Tewkesbury alongside Enola Holmes, Patridge is no stranger to solving mysteries. But the mystery of whether he will portray the role of James Bond is ours to decode until further notice.
Jacob Elordi and Harris Dickinson: The Shortlist Staples
According to reports, Jacob Elordi and Harris Dickinson are also among the actors advancing into the next stage of auditions.
Elordi, famous for his commanding screen presence, offers a more modern, brooding take that could easily translate into a darker Bond era. From Euphoria to Wuthering Heights, his versatility on screen is obviously his superpower.
Dickinson, on the other hand, carries understated intensity and a surplus of lethal aura to fill James Bond's larger-than-life shoes. Best known for his renowned roles in Triangle of Sadness, Beach Rats and The Iron Claw, his acting chops speak for themselves. Spending time behind the camera as well, Dickinson made his directorial debut with the award-winning Urchin in 2025.

Both actors fit the rumoured shift towards a younger Bond, one that could redefine the character for a new generation. Ultimately, cinematic hits have one denominator in common: high-risk, high reward. Could taking a risk on a younger James Bond stray too far from the original concept, or would it ignite a new chapter that viewers never knew they needed?
James Bond: Reloaded
While the names continue to circulate, the franchise appears to be ready for change.
A younger Bond would not just mean a different face. It would breathe new life into the tone, pacing, and storytelling style of the series. Just picture it; instead of a fully-formed agent, audiences could be introduced to a version of Bond still growing into the role while potentially drinking a mocktail rather than a martini.
That leap could be the biggest gamble the franchise has taken in years, but if it pays off, it would be nothing short of rule-breaking and groundbreaking.
For now, though, everything remains speculative, which only makes the guessing game all the more entertaining.
Whoever among these brilliant actors (or perhaps a dark horse?) will fill the suit of the legendary 007, consider the fandom shaken, not stirred, with anticipation.
