Jennifer Lopez may be used to walking into rooms surrounded by a team, but Nikki Glaser says things looked very different at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. The comedian recalled seeing Lopez on her own during the star-filled celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City on 3 July 2026. Glaser joked that the singer seemed 'kind of like a wallflower' as famous guests mixed without the people they are often surrounded by at major public events.
Glaser shared the story during her Las Vegas shows at Caesars Palace over Labour Day weekend, almost two months after the wedding. She said it was unusual to see major celebrities attending without the entourages often associated with high-profile appearances. Lopez stood out to Glaser because, in her words, 'J.Lo was alone'.
The comments were part of Glaser's comedy routine and should not be taken as proof that Lopez felt unhappy or uncomfortable at the wedding. Glaser was joking about how unusual it was to see major stars moving around the event on their own. In the same routine, she said that she and Lopez became 'pals all night', making clear that her earlier 'wallflower' description was not evidence that Lopez remained isolated throughout the celebration.
J.Lo Became a 'Wallflower'
Glaser said the wedding gave her a rare look at celebrities without the people who often surround them at major public events. 'It was interesting because some of these celebrities were alone,' she said while telling the story on stage. She then singled out Lopez, saying the singer and actress was 'kind of like a wallflower'.

Her description became even more playful when she called Lopez 'alone, awkward' before making another joke about the star's personal life. The remarks came during a stand-up set in which Glaser mixed details from the wedding with deliberately exaggerated comedy. There is no evidence that Lopez herself has said she felt awkward, lonely or uncomfortable at the event.
Photos and video from the wedding day independently document Lopez's attendance at Madison Square Garden. She arrived wearing a dramatic black Bach Mai gown with a velvet bodice and a voluminous high-low skirt, finished with sparkling jewellery. Her presence at the celebration is therefore well established, although her feelings during the private reception are known only through accounts from those inside.
Nikki and J.Lo Bonded
Lopez apparently did not remain a 'wallflower' for long, at least according to Glaser's version of the night. The comedian said the pair became friendly and even went to the bathroom together during the celebration. She described them as 'pals all night', making clear that her earlier comments about Lopez being alone were part of the comic setup rather than a claim that she stayed isolated.

Glaser then turned the bathroom trip into one of the more outrageous sections of her routine. She joked about teaching Lopez how to use a public bathroom before making several clearly comic claims about helping her inside. Those lines should be understood as stand-up comedy rather than independently confirmed details about what happened in the restroom.
The story also helps explain why the wedding may have felt unusual even for guests accustomed to major Hollywood events. Guests were required to surrender their phones, leaving them unable to take pictures or use their devices during the celebration.
Kelce later said the couple wanted the wedding to feel intimate and free from distractions, while the phone-free setting helped guests remain present during the celebration.
Inside Swift's Private Wedding
Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on 3 July after months of public interest in their wedding plans. Around 1,000 guests attended the large-scale event, although the couple sought to create a private atmosphere despite the guest list.
The arena was transformed into a custom ceremony and reception space, while tight security helped keep much of the celebration away from cameras.
Kelce later explained that privacy was one of the reasons the couple chose Madison Square Garden. He said they wanted an intimate setting with limited distractions even though their guest list was much larger than that of a typical wedding. The no-phone policy formed another important part of that approach and helps explain why relatively few images from inside the celebration became public.
For Glaser, the strict rules made the experience even more unusual because she spent about 12 hours without her phone and had little to take home from the night. She joked that she nearly stole a Travis Kelce cake topper as a souvenir before deciding against it.
Her stories about Jennifer Lopez, the cake and the famous guests offer a comic glimpse inside the private celebration, but the jokes are best kept separate from details that have been independently documented.
