Olivia O'Brien has branded Pete Davidson an 'absolute joke of a human being' while recalling how she allegedly discovered the comedian was dating another woman.

The singer appeared to weigh in on the backlash surrounding Davidson's recent comments about female influencers, recalling what she described as a 2020 relationship with Davidson and claiming she discovered he had gone public with 'a more famous woman' through the Daily Mail's Snapchat account.

O'Brien Details Her Alleged 2020 Romance With Davidson

'I was dating him in 2020 and found out we were no longer together by seeing on Snapchat Daily Mail that he went public with a more famous woman. He is an absolute joke of a human being,' O'Brien wrote.

Another commenter then shared a similar experience, claiming Davidson had told her he was in love with her before attending a music festival and subsequently entering a relationship with another woman he met there.

'Something similar happened to me,' the commenter wrote. 'He told me he was in love with me and then he went to a music festival that weekend. When he got back, he wasn't texting me. Then I logged on Facebook and saw he was in a relationship with some girl he met at the festival.'

O'Brien responded: 'Sounds about exactly right! Not sure how he has the time considering we were texting 24 hours a day and falling asleep on FaceTime when we weren't together. Busy boy lmao.'

Pete Davidson Sparks Backlash Over Influencer Remarks

O'Brien's comments came after Davidson sparked controversy by questioning how female influencers can make millions from social media.

During a Variety 'Ask A Local' interview released on 30 September , Davidson questioned how some female influencers can earn millions from social media and criticised content such as 'get ready with me' videos and TikTok dances.

'There's girls that are making $40 million a year,' Davidson said. 'What the fuck are they doing?'

He also joked about starting an OnlyFans account himself and retiring if he could make the kind of money some creators reportedly earn. His remarks prompted criticism online, with some questioning why Davidson appeared to focus particularly on women and the work they do on social media.

OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain also pushed back against the comedian, challenging him to try making the same kind of money himself and arguing that successful creators are effectively running businesses.

O'Brien Previously Discussed Their Relationship

O'Brien previously spoke about her alleged involvement with Davidson during a June 2022 appearance on the BFFs podcast. She said they had been involved around October 2020 and claimed Davidson later told her by text that he was seeing someone else.

However, Davidson's representative disputed the account at the time, telling E! News there was 'no truth' to the claim that the pair had dated and saying they were friends who had hung out a few times.

O'Brien later clarified her comments, saying she had never claimed to have dated anyone and that her remarks had been taken out of context. Her comments about Davidson in 2022 were also considerably more complimentary than her latest assessment. O'Brien described him as 'a nice guy' and praised his sense of humour, while also calling him 'hot' and 'sweet'.

O'Brien's latest comments therefore represent a significant change in tone, although the exact nature of their relationship remains disputed.
