Sadie Sink's latest Calvin Klein campaign has divided viewers, with some accusing the fashion giant of taking its provocative aesthetic too far.
The 24-year-old Stranger Things actress stars in Calvin Klein's autumn 2026 'Feel The Fit' denim campaign, which launched on 1 September and centres on the confidence that comes from finding the right pair of jeans.
But on Reddit, some viewers have focused less on the fashion and more on what they see as overly sexual imagery in the advert.
The discussion on the r/Fauxmoi subreddit has drawn strong reactions, with commenters questioning several shots and visual references. One wrote: 'Please tell me I'm not the only one who felt uncomfortable watching this one.'
Another criticised what they considered an unnecessarily intimate camera angle, writing: 'That was an unnecessarily close and gratuitous shot.'
The response, however, has not been universally negative, with some users defending the campaign and arguing that sensual advertising has long been part of Calvin Klein's identity.
Viewers Question the Sexualised Imagery
Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the campaign sees Sink wearing a selection of Calvin Klein denim while dancing and singing along to Willa Ford's 2001 hit 'I Wanna Be Bad'. The advert deliberately taps into early-2000s pop culture, with Sink using a hairbrush as a microphone and performing for the camera.
Calvin Klein has described the campaign as a celebration of 'the confidence that comes when the fit feels right'. Sink models several styles, including the '90s Straight Jean, Low Rise Baggy Jean and High Rise Loose Jean.
However, some Reddit users felt the visual direction overshadowed the fashion message. One commenter described the advert as 'icky', while another objected to what they viewed as a lingering focus on Sink's crotch.
A particularly critical comment read: 'Lots of strange ejaculatory imagery here, wtf, hahaha.' Others pushed back against the criticism, arguing that viewers were overanalysing an advert designed around the brand's established sensual aesthetic.
The debate has also been shaped by Sink's history as a child actor.
Fans Debate Sink's Transition From Child Star
Sink became internationally recognised as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things after beginning her acting career as a child. She is now 24 and has increasingly taken on adult roles. Some Reddit users said that history influenced their reaction to the Calvin Klein campaign.
One commenter wrote: 'I'm the same age as her and even I feel uncomfortable.' Another user, who said they were 25, offered a more conflicted view: 'I am 25 and feel the same. I am trying to get over it though because infantilizing women who acted as children is obnoxious.'
The comments highlight a wider tension: some viewers struggle to separate an actor they watched grow up from the adult performer they have become, while others argue that doing so risks infantilising women who are now adults.
Importantly, the Reddit discussion reflects individual online reactions rather than evidence of widespread opposition to the campaign. Calvin Klein has positioned 'Feel The Fit' around denim, confidence and its signature sensual style, rather than Sink's former child-star status.
For some viewers, the campaign is simply a nostalgic early-2000s-inspired fashion advert. For others, its provocative imagery has overshadowed the clothes—leaving Calvin Klein facing an unexpected debate over sensuality, advertising and the way audiences perceive former child stars.
