Zara Larrson's swan inspired eye makeup by Sophia Sinot
Sophia Sinot strikes again with another dreamy nature-inspired look for Zara Larsson @sophiasinot/Instagram

Zara Larsson's latest beauty look takes the classic flick and gives it an entire set of feathers, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Sophia Sinot. Previously taking a cue from marine biology, Larsson's eyes have now gone from ocean to pond, transforming into a pair of ethereal swan wings.

The striking look replaces the traditional black flick with sweeping strokes of white pigment stretching from Larsson's eyelids towards her temples. Paired with dramatic lashes, tiny crystals, and flashes of orange around the inner corners, the result exudes Swan Lake after a particularly glamorous trip to the beauty counter.

With Larsson currently in her Midnight Sun tour era, perhaps it was only a matter of time before her makeup started looking like it belonged beneath its own celestial sky.

Winged Liner Takes Flight

Classic winged eyeliner has survived virtually every beauty cycle for good reason.

The technique traditionally uses a sleek line extending beyond the outer corner of the eye, creating that familiar lifted flick. It can be tiny and subtle, exaggerated and graphic, or practically sharp enough to require a warning label.

For Zara Larsson's swan-inspired look, white pigment blankets the lids before splitting into elongated strokes around the outer corners, mimicking individual feathers. Several smaller strokes fan beneath the eyes, turning the familiar eyeliner silhouette into something softer, stranger, and more theatrical.

A vivid orange accent near the tear ducts prevents all that white from disappearing into Larsson's complexion, while possibly representing the swan's beak. Working overtime to add another dimension of fairytale magic, crystals scatter across the bridge of her nose and around her eyes.

It's winged eyeliner, but the wings have left the nest, obviously.

Zara Larsson's Face Is Becoming Sophia Sinot's Canvas

The swan is hardly an isolated flight of fancy for Sophia Sinot.

The London-based Dutch makeup artist has built a reputation around experimental beauty that treats the face like something to decorate beyond your typical full glam. Rhinestones, saturated colour, unconventional shapes, and futuristic details frequently replace the restrained neutrals associated with the clean-girl era.

Given her taste for pops of colour, Y2K nostalgia, and maximalist beauty, Larsson makes quite the willing canvas.

As the singer continues her Midnight Sun tour, her stage looks have increasingly become part of the show, giving Sinot room to experiment with makeup designed to be noticed rather than merely flattering.

And this particular look proves maximalism doesn't necessarily mean throwing everything onto a face at once. Despite the rhinestones, orange pigment, enormous lashes and feathered liner, the swan motif remains immediately readable because the drama stays concentrated around Larsson's eyes.

The rest is comparatively mellow: sculpted skin, softly flushed cheeks, and a glossy brown-lined lip that lets the birds remain the main attraction.

Swan Lake, Meet the Makeup Bag

Beauty trends routinely cycle through elaborate variations on the cat-eye, from smoky wings to floating liner and graphic shapes. Sinot's interpretation instead asks a more entertaining question: what if the flick wasn't merely inspired by a wing's basic shape?

What if it meant the shape and texture of a swan's wings?

Zara Larsson's eyes are no longer simply defined. They're practically in migration for warmer weather.

If this is where Sinot is taking the humble eyeliner flick next, consider the classic winged eyeliner officially ruffling its feathers. When the makeup looks like museum-worthy art? No swan song required.
