Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor 'Tay' Lautner, are officially parents! Their baby's name has given fans yet another reason to laugh about the couple's famously confusing shared name.
The Twilight star and Tay welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Lennon Taylor Lautner, on 16 September. They announced the news one week later, sharing the first glimpse of their daughter and revealing that they have already given her the adorable nickname 'Lenny'.
The Lautners Welcome Baby Taylor
Taylor and Tay shared the happy news on Instagram on 23 September, posting a photo of their newborn lying beside a personalised needlepoint displaying her name.
'One week loving our sweet little Lenny,' they wrote alongside the announcement, revealing their daughter's full name and confirming that she was born on 16 September.
The couple shared the news of their pregnancy in March in a post showing them holding ultrasound scans, playfully asking: 'What's better than two Taylor Lautners?' The answer, apparently, was a third Taylor—at least technically.
Lennon's first name is not Taylor, but her middle name keeps the family's shared-name joke going. Taylor and Tay are both named Taylor, with Tay commonly using her nickname to avoid some of the inevitable confusion.
The Taylor Lautner Jokes Begin
Naturally, the internet had plenty to say about the Lautners welcoming another Taylor into the family.
Fans imagined the chaos that could come from having three people in the same household with Taylor Lautner somewhere in their names. One joked: 'The mail must be a f*cking nightmare at that house'. Another wondered what would happen if someone called the family home asking: 'Is Taylor home?'
Then there were the practical concerns. Fans joked about booking plane tickets, introducing yourself when your parents also have the same name and the possibility of 'Taylor Lautnerception'.
'Three Taylor Lautners in one house. I wonder if Social Security is confused,' one person added.
Others congratulated 'all of the Taylors Lautner', while another jokingly suggested the baby should have been called 'Taylor Taylor Lautner-Lautner'.
Inside Taylor and Tay's Romance
Taylor is an American actor best known for playing Jacob Black in the Twilight film series, while his wife Tay is a registered nurse, mental health advocate and podcast host.
The couple's relationship began in 2018 after they were introduced by Taylor's sister, Makena Moore. Their romance became public the following year, and the couple eventually took their relationship to the next level with a proposal on 11 November 2021.
The date had special meaning for the pair. Taylor proposed in his kitchen on 11/11, and exactly one year later, they returned to the date for their wedding.
The couple married on 11 November 2022 at Epoch Estate Winery near Paso Robles in California, US. Their wedding featured a sunset vineyard setting, with around 100 guests attending the celebration. Tay wore a lace Winnie Couture wedding dress decorated with butterfly appliqués, while Taylor wore a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo.
Since getting married, the couple have also worked together on The Squeeze, a podcast that has covered relationships, mental health and personal experiences. Their first pregnancy announcement in March marked another major milestone for the pair.
