Tom Holland may play one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most beloved superheroes, but behind the scenes, he has earned a very different title: Spoiler-Man.
Over the years, the Spider-Man star has developed a talent for accidentally leaking major plot points, often mid-interview, mid-sentence, and sometimes mid-realisation. As Spider-Man: Brand New Day gears up for release, fans are once again tuning in for potential slip-ups. After all, apart from being a quirky web-shooting hero, it's Holland's lack of a spoiler alert label that gave him real-life Peter Parker charm.
With Holland, spoilers are not a possibility. They are a superpower.
Tom Holland as Spoiler-Man: When Web-Slinging Comes With Extra Features
One of Holland's earliest spoiler slip-ups dates back to 2016, when he casually hinted that Spider-Man would not be sticking to just one type of webbing in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
At the time, it was a surprisingly big reveal. Holland realised it almost immediately, cutting himself off mid-thought in what would become his signature move: say too much, then panic.
It would not be the last time. In fact, this was merely the first in a series of many multiverse-shattering spoilers to come.
Spider-Man Going Rogue
Later that same year, Holland took to Facebook Live to chat with fans, only to casually describe a major stunt sequence involving his character being dropped into a lake.
His reaction was a delayed moment of horror followed by the now-iconic question: 'This is live, isn't it?'
It's times like this when the Time Stone would come in handy, Dr. Strange.
Sequels? What Sequels?
In 2017, before Spider-Man: Homecoming had even hit cinemas, Holland went ahead and confirmed that Spider-Man would have multiple sequels.
Marvel, famously secretive, had not announced anything yet. After making that accidental reveal, one might imagine that Holland possibly saw his entire career flash before his eyes in slow motion, perhaps even in comic-strip style.
Infinity War and the Tom Holland Contingency Plan
By the time Avengers: Infinity War rolled around, Marvel had attempted damage control, even going as far as providing fake scripts to prevent leaks.
Unfortunately, Holland managed to spoil a real plot point anyway.
During a talk show appearance, he mentioned Spider-Man heading to space. This prompted Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) to crack a joke about 'wiping his memory' in Men In Black style.
To make matters even more comedic, Holland once walked into a theatre screening and casually announced, 'I'm alive', before realising the audience had not yet seen the film. Translation: no one even knew his character got momentarily snapped away by Thanos to begin with.
Timing has never been his strong suit, but that's probably why most people, especially Zendaya, love him.
'Brand New Day', Same Old Problem
Fast forward to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day promotions in 2026, and Holland is still keeping fans on their toes.
During a recent interview, he hinted that despite the memory-erasing events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, one person may still remember that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. On top of that, he also talked about how emotional the film is, nearly revealing how it ends.
Zendaya, sitting beside him, immediately tried to shut it down, saying, 'No, don't say that', to which Jacob Batalon added, 'Let's just keep it locked'.

'The Odyssey' of Tom Holland's Movie Spoilers
The spoiler streak has now crossed cinematic universes.
While promoting The Odyssey on The Today Show, Holland revealed that Christopher Nolan trusted him with a script, which he then took home and read with Zendaya.
Anne Hathaway's surprised reaction said it all.
'Wait, you took it home?'
To which Holland responded: 'I probably shouldn't have said that.'
At this point, even fans have joined in on the joke. One comment summed it up perfectly: 'What I love is that Nolan was probably like. Yeah sure Tom take it home you can't spoil a 3000 year old story..
Spoiler-Man's Web of Spoilers
What once looked like a PR nightmare has now become part of Tom Holland's unfiltered charm. Marvel has probably come to accept it, fans expect it, and interviews feel incomplete without at least one near-catastrophe.
Because in a cinematic world built on mystery and suspense, Spider-Man will save the day, get the girl, and without fail, nearly spoil the entire movie.
