The final moments of a British mother who died after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Turkey have been revealed during an inquest, highlighting the risks of making significant medical decisions under intense time pressure.
Hayley Dowell, a 38-year-old mother of three from Eastleigh, Hampshire, travelled to Istanbul with her husband, Neil Dowell, for planned cosmetic procedures. Her original treatment package, which cost more than £7,000, included a tummy tuck and 360-degree liposuction.
However, just minutes before she was due to enter the operating theatre, Dowell was reportedly offered an additional procedure that would ultimately form part of the tragic circumstances surrounding her death.

Around 10 minutes before the operation, the surgeon reportedly suggested using fat removed during the liposuction procedure to enhance Dowell's buttocks. Her husband told the inquest that the surgeon described her bottom as being 'a little flat'.
