Wrangler is preparing to open its first standalone UK store at Ashford Designer Outlet in Kent during summer 2026, marking a major British retail milestone for the American denim giant. The shop will give customers a dedicated place to browse the brand's jeans, jackets and Western-inspired clothing rather than relying solely on its online store or third-party retailers.

The upcoming Wrangler UK store will be positioned next to American fashion retailer Hollister at the McArthurGlen-owned shopping destination. Although an exact launch date has not been announced, the outlet's centre manager, Peter Heritage, said the team was hoping to welcome shoppers before the end of the summer.

Wrangler Confirms Its Summer 2026 Arrival

Ashford Designer Outlet announced the news through its official Instagram account, sharing footage of the boarded-up unit carrying Wrangler branding and an 'Opening Summer 2026' message. The centre wrote: 'Wrangler is coming to @ashforddesigneroutlet in Summer 2026. We'll definitely be there on opening day.'

Heritage described Wrangler as a strong addition to the Kent centre's existing fashion lineup. He said: 'It will be a fantastic addition to our line-up and further strengthen our fashion offer.' While the opening remains scheduled broadly for summer, Heritage added that the centre was 'hopeful of a late-summer opening' and was looking forward to welcoming the label.

The location places Wrangler alongside a mix of global fashion, footwear and accessories brands, including Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach and Nike. Ashford Designer Outlet is located on Kimberley Way in Kent and currently promotes savings of up to 60 per cent across participating shops. Its regular opening hours run until 8pm on weekdays, with longer Saturday trading hours.

An American Denim Name Since 1947

Wrangler traces its roots to North Carolina in 1947 and initially became closely associated with jeans created for rodeo riders and working cowboys. The company now describes itself as a source of 'comfortable jeans and western apparel', while its parent company, Kontoor Brands, positions Wrangler as an American lifestyle label recognised for quality, comfort and style.

The brand's UK range already includes men's and women's jeans, denim jackets, shirts, shorts and accessories through its British ecommerce website. The new Kent shop will therefore represent an expansion of Wrangler's existing UK availability rather than its first entry into the country. It will, however, be the brand's first permanent standalone British retail location.

Wrangler has previously experimented with physical activations in Britain, including a temporary Wrangler Icons pop-up in London's Soho in 2019. That limited-run shop was styled like a 1970s recording studio and operated for several weeks, making the Ashford launch a more permanent step in the label's British retail strategy.

Western Fashion Finds a Permanent UK Home

The opening arrives as Western styling remains visible across fashion through cowboy boots, double denim, embroidered shirts and relaxed workwear silhouettes. Wrangler has also strengthened its connection to modern country fashion through collaborations with Grammy-winning singer and Yellowstone actress Lainey Wilson, whose collections have mixed the brand's heritage with contemporary womenswear.

The company has also maintained a wider celebrity presence, with performers and models wearing Wrangler denim across concerts, campaigns and public appearances. Yet the Ashford store's central draw is expected to remain the label's accessible denim, particularly classic fits and Western pieces offered within an outlet-shopping environment.

Further details about the official opening date, launch-day activities and the collections stocked inside the store have not yet been confirmed. For now, the signage at Ashford Designer Outlet establishes the key timeline: Wrangler's first standalone UK shop is due to open in summer 2026, giving the 79-year-old American denim name its first permanent retail home in Britain.
