Yungblud has stepped away from touring after cancelling his appearance at Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary, Canada, on Sunday, 12 July, saying he is taking time off in the UK to focus on his mental health. The Zombie singer announced the decision days after breaking down onstage in Czechia, where he revealed he had 'felt in pain for a long time' and struggled with feelings of disconnection.

The British musician, born Dominic Harrison, told fans that he is 'taking this extremely seriously' as he prioritises his long term wellbeing. His decision follows an emotional speech that quickly spread across social media and has sparked renewed conversations about the pressures facing touring artists and the importance of taking breaks when needed.

Yungblud Withdraws From Canadian Festival

Yungblud confirmed that he would no longer perform at Cowboys Music Festival, apologising directly to fans who had planned to attend the show. The cancellation marks his first public step back from live performances since sharing his emotional onstage moment in Czechia.

'To all my family in Canada, I apologise for not being there with you all this weekend. I'm currently in a place where I'm working on myself and taking time off at home in the UK', he wrote. 'I'm taking this extremely seriously and facing head on what's going on for the good of the long term.'

He added that he remains grateful for the support he has received throughout his career, telling fans, 'I will never take any of this for granted and I will see you all soon. I love you all.'

'I Have Felt in Pain for a Long Time'

During his Bludfest performance in Czechia on 27 June, Yungblud paused the concert to speak candidly about his mental health. The emotional speech saw him admit that performing had become one of the few places where he felt understood.

'Lately, I have felt so disconnected from everything. I have been trying my best to wake up every day. I have felt in pain a lot and I don't know why for a long time', he told the audience.

He also thanked supporters for giving him a sense of belonging, saying, 'Every time I find your faces, every time I find your eyes, every time I look at you, I know that I belong somewhere.'

Singer Opens Up About Fame and Online Criticism

After the performance, Yungblud posted the emotional clip on Instagram, explaining that he initially hesitated because he did not want anyone to think he was sharing it for attention. He later revealed that the breakdown reflected emotions that had been building over the past year rather than a single difficult day.

The singer also addressed the relentless pace of touring and the impact of online criticism, writing that 'hate and disbelief' from strangers and fellow musicians had taken a toll on his wellbeing. He revealed that although he felt relieved after leaving the stage, he suffered another breakdown while alone shortly afterwards, reinforcing that he needed time away from performing.

For now, Yungblud has not announced when he will return to the stage, but his latest update makes clear that his immediate focus is recovery. His message to fans signals that stepping away from touring is intended to protect his long term health before resuming live performances in the future.
