Few models have left a mark on fashion quite like Adriana Lima. For more than two decades, the Brazilian supermodel was one of the defining faces of Victoria's Secret, becoming synonymous with the brand's era of athletic glamour, confidence and runway dominance.

Now 45, Lima continues to attract attention for the same reason she did at the height of her Angel years: her remarkable fitness. While many models have stepped away from the demanding standards associated with the runway, Lima has maintained the strength, discipline and conditioning that helped make her one of Victoria's Secret's most recognisable stars.

Behind the polished appearances and effortless confidence is a fitness regime that has earned her a reputation as one of the hardest-working women in fashion.

Why Adriana Lima Became Victoria's Secret's Hardest-Working Angel

Lima's dedication to training has become almost legendary within modelling circles.

Celebrity trainer Kirk Myers, founder of New York's Dogpound gym and the personal trainer trusted by stars including Taylor Swift, has previously described Lima as one of the most committed clients he has ever worked with.

'She's a badass and all of the other supermodels look up to her for inspiration', Myers said.

The trainer added that Lima is widely known among models and former Victoria's Secret Angels for having some of the toughest workouts in the industry.

That reputation did not appear overnight. It was built through years of consistency, long before wellness became a major talking point across fashion and entertainment.

The Boxing Obsession Behind Her Famous Physique

While many models gravitate towards Pilates or low-impact training, boxing has remained the foundation of Lima's fitness routine for years.

The supermodel has previously revealed that boxing accounts for around 80 per cent of her workouts. She trains with former middleweight boxing champion Michael Olajide Jr, whose AeroSpace programme combines boxing drills, endurance work and high-intensity cardio.

The workouts are designed to challenge nearly every part of the body, improving stamina, coordination, strength and cardiovascular fitness at the same time.

'Adriana does what she has to in the gym. Her work ethic is out of control. When she gets in her mind she wants to get something done, she does it', Olajide said.

The demanding sessions have helped Lima maintain the lean, athletic physique that became her trademark throughout her Victoria's Secret career.

Lima herself has never hidden her preference for intense exercise.

'I like to sweat, and I like intense workouts, nothing slow. I'm always ready. That's why I've been in the business for over 20 years', she previously told Insider.

Inside Her Weekly Fitness Routine

Boxing may dominate her training schedule, but it is far from the only exercise in her routine. When she is not in the boxing gym, Lima incorporates running, battle ropes, medicine ball exercises and core-focused workouts to maintain overall conditioning.

She regularly runs around five kilometres several times a week and is known to travel with a jump rope so she can exercise wherever she is in the world. For recovery, she balances high-intensity sessions with yoga, Pilates and Lagree workouts, helping improve flexibility while reducing the risk of injury.

The combination of strength, endurance and recovery has allowed Lima to maintain her fitness level long after many of her contemporaries stepped away from the runway.

The Six-Meal Plan That Fuels Her Training

Lima's disciplined approach extends beyond the gym. Rather than relying on restrictive dieting, the model focuses on six smaller meals throughout the day to support energy levels and recovery.

Breakfast typically includes oatmeal with fruit and nuts, followed by a protein shake blended with fruit and vegetables.

Lunch usually centres on lean protein such as chicken, alongside vegetables and complex carbohydrates including sweet potato, rice or quinoa. Healthy snacks such as nuts, carrots and celery help bridge the gap between meals, while dinner often consists of fish or chicken paired with salad.

She also prioritises hydration, drinking around two litres of water daily.

Yet despite her disciplined routine, Lima has always maintained a realistic attitude towards food.

'I love chocolate cake, and every time I eat it, I just enjoy it so much', she once admitted.

'Right after, I feel a little bit guilty because I'm the type of person to have two or three pieces of chocolate cake. I cannot control myself!'

The confession offers a glimpse into the balance behind her approach, proving that even one of fashion's most famous models allows room for indulgence.

The Recovery Habit She Swears By

Fitness is only part of the equation.

Lima has repeatedly credited sleep and recovery as essential parts of her wellness routine. She aims for around nine hours of sleep each night and incorporates meditation into her evening schedule to help manage stress and improve overall wellbeing.

The focus on recovery has become increasingly important as conversations around health in fashion shift away from extreme dieting and towards sustainable wellbeing.

More Than Good Genetics

Throughout her career, Lima has worked with some of fashion's biggest names, including Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang and Anna Sui. She also opened the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show five times, a distinction achieved by only a handful of models.

But according to the trainers who have worked with her, her longevity cannot simply be attributed to genetics.

Instead, it comes down to consistency.

At 45, Adriana Lima's fitness philosophy remains remarkably straightforward: train hard, recover properly and stay committed. The boxing workouts may have become her signature, but it is the discipline behind them that has helped transform her from a successful model into one of the most enduring Victoria's Secret Angels of all time.
