Alexandr Wang may be better known for artificial intelligence than fashion, but his latest appearance at Meta Connect 2026 has put his wardrobe firmly into the conversation.
Meta's chief AI officer appeared at the company's developer conference in a casual outfit that included a camouflage-print T-shirt, black trousers and camouflage Crocs. The look stood out against the more familiar image of Silicon Valley executives, where simple T-shirts, hoodies and other deliberately understated basics have long been part of the dress code.
Rather than looking like a traditional corporate executive, Wang's outfit reflected a style associated with younger men: second-hand-inspired pieces, deliberately casual footwear and prints that are more playful than polished.
The Camo T-Shirt Was the Main Attraction
The centrepiece of Wang's outfit was a 1990s-style camouflage T-shirt featuring a large deer head, a wooded path and additional deer on the front. A 'Lake Tahoe' label appeared on the sleeve.
He paired the shirt with black trousers and camouflage Crocs, creating a look that was casual enough for an everyday wardrobe but unusual enough to attract attention during a major technology event.
The outfit became particularly noticeable because Wang was wearing it while appearing at Meta Connect, a major developer event held on 23 to 24 September 2026. Meta's official recap confirms the event featured announcements around AI, AI glasses and virtual reality.

There is no single uniform for Gen Z men, but Wang's outfit fits several elements commonly associated with the generation's more relaxed approach to menswear.

At Connect 2026, Meta highlighted new developments around Muse, AI glasses and other products. The company's official announcement said Muse was being brought to its AI glasses, while Meta also introduced new VR glasses and expanded its AI glasses line-up.
Against that backdrop, Wang's relaxed appearance offered a noticeable contrast to the polished image sometimes associated with senior technology executives.

Gen Z Menswear Is Not One-Size-Fits-All
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Wang's look is that casual menswear continues to have plenty of room for individuality.
Graphic prints, thrifted-looking pieces, Crocs and relaxed silhouettes can all form part of a modern wardrobe without necessarily following a strict trend formula.
