Crocs is giving Pixar fans a new reason to race to D23 this weekend with a wild purple clog inspired by Ramone from Cars. The eye-catching shoe is set to debut at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, as the animated film celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The design takes cues from Ramone's famous custom paint jobs, turning the character's bold style into footwear that looks almost ready to roll out of Radiator Springs. With its bright purple finish, flame details and car-inspired touches, the clog is one of the more playful fashion pieces tied to the Cars anniversary.
Ramone Gets the Crocs Treatment
The new clog is based on Ramone, the custom car and owner of Ramone's House of Body Art in Radiator Springs. Pixar describes him as a 1959 Impala low-rider who regularly changes his own paint job, making his colourful look a natural fit for a Crocs collaboration.
The shoe takes that idea and pushes it into full cartoon style, with purple foam covering the upper and graphic details that recall Ramone's bodywork. The front features his eyes, while the sides carry flame graphics and small car details that make the clog look like a miniature version of the character.
A raised spoiler-like detail sits at the back, adding another nod to the world of racing and custom cars. The result is far from a quiet everyday shoe, with the design clearly made for Cars fans who want their favourite character to stand out.
The Purple Clog Is Heading to D23
Crocs will debut the Ramone Classic Clog through its 'Road to D23' experience during D23 2026. The Disney fan event takes place from 14 to 16 August, with Crocs listed among the brands bringing special experiences and merchandise to the show floor.
According to the D23 vendor details, Crocs' activation will be built around a series of interactive 'pit stops' inspired by the Cars world. Fans will also be able to personalise their Crocs at a Jibbitz trading station, take photos and see a preview of other Crocs products that have not yet been released.
The Ramone clog is therefore arriving at a fitting moment for both Crocs and Pixar. Rather than simply putting a character graphic on a standard pair of shoes, the design uses the character's car shape, colours and custom style as part of the shoe itself.
More 'Cars' Crocs Could Be on the Way
The Ramone reveal may not be the only Cars footwear story this year. Product information circulating online has also pointed to a Lightning McQueen Dinoco Crocband design, with the blue shoe featuring the famous #95 racing car and Dinoco branding, although Crocs has not yet provided the same level of official detail publicly available for the Ramone D23 debut.

Images of the blue Lightning McQueen design show a much more literal take on the character, with the clog shaped and decorated to resemble his racing body. The design includes the familiar #95 number, racing graphics and a large blue spoiler, giving it a very different look from the purple Ramone pair.
For now, the Ramone Classic Clog is the release with the clearest connection to D23, where Crocs has confirmed that the character design will make its debut. Fans looking for exact retail dates, prices and wider availability will need to wait for official Crocs details rather than rely on early social media reports.
A Nostalgic Shoe with a Very Modern Look
The timing could hardly be better for a Ramone-inspired shoe. Twenty years after Cars first introduced audiences to Radiator Springs, Crocs is turning one of its most colourful characters into footwear that is designed to get noticed.
The clog also captures something important about the Cars franchise, which has always mixed racing with strong character design. Ramone's purple paint and custom style were part of what made him memorable, and those same details translate surprisingly well into a pair of Crocs.
Whether fans wear them to a Disney event, keep them as a collector's item or simply use them as a conversation starter, the shoes are hard to ignore. With Cars returning to the big screen and anniversary merchandise arriving throughout 2026, Ramone's latest makeover could be one of the strangest and most fun ways to celebrate the franchise's 20th birthday.
