Pitt has asked a judge to intervene after claiming Jolie has refused to provide details of her income from film projects and other professional deals between 2017 and 2021, according to TMZ. His legal team says the records are needed to challenge Jolie's claim that she sold her stake in Nouvel, her holding company for Château Miraval, to achieve 'financial independence' following their separation.
During that period, Jolie appeared in several major productions, including Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Marvel's Eternals and Those Who Wish Me Dead. Pitt's lawyers have reportedly requested information about her film contracts, upfront payments, brand partnerships and profit participation from projects released around that time.
As per Pitt's filing, Jolie initially agreed to provide some financial information before later refusing to hand over additional documents. His team argues the records could help clarify her claims surrounding the sale of her winery stake.
Jolie has pushed back against the request, saying Pitt is seeking private financial details that he is not entitled to access. Her lawyers have argued that she never claimed she was struggling financially, but instead wanted to separate her finances and personal life from Pitt following their split.

The legal battle dates back to Jolie's 2021 sale of her stake in Château Miraval through her company Nouvel to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group. Pitt has argued that he invested significant time and resources into developing the wine business after the couple acquired their controlling interest in 2008. The estate became known internationally for its rosé wine, with the couple's ownership adding to its public profile.
