Britney Spears shared an Instagram video captioned: 'You can't trust anyone !!!' She demonstrated the effect of her Botox by pulling down the skin around her eyes as she explained what had happened.
'It's really bad because he put so much Botox in this left eye that it drew down like that,' Spears said. She explained that it was 'just now starting to raise up and be normal again' before admitting: 'It's so embarrassing.'
The singer then switched from describing her own experience to warning other women to be cautious.
'Girls, you have to be careful,' she said. 'If you do Botox with these people and these doctors, they can really f*** your eyes up.'
Spears said her eye remained drooped for around four weeks. She did not name the doctor or provide further details about where or when the procedure took place.
She also used the video to make a broader point about cosmetic procedures and personal choice. 'Be careful with these people,' she said, claiming that some may try to change a person's face without considering the consequences.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) lists eyelid ptosis, or drooping of the upper eyelid, as a reported adverse reaction to Botox cosmetic. According to the FDA's prescribing information, eyelid ptosis occurred in 3% of patients treated for frown lines between the eyebrows, while eyelid swelling was reported in 1% of those treated for crow's feet around the eyes.
