Angel Victoria Murdock allegedly followed Duke PA graduate Kiera Lee before posting about similar clinical rotations, raising fresh questions about her claimed Duke journey Instagram/@kieraleepatobe

A disputed Duke University Physician Assistant (PA) story took an even more personal turn after real graduate Kiera Lee said Angel Victoria Murdock followed her on Instagram before appearing to post about some of the same clinical rotations. The connection has raised fresh questions around Murdock's online portrayal of herself as a Duke PA student, particularly after Duke Health said it could find no record of her applying to or attending the programme.

For nearly two years, Murdock had presented an image of life as a hardworking PA student, sharing scrubs, study sessions, clinical content and graduation photographs online. But as members of Duke's genuine 2026 PA cohort compared that online story with their own experiences, Lee's account emerged as one of the more unusual details surrounding the case.

Kiera Lee Was Part of the Real Duke Cohort

Lee was not simply a stranger watching the controversy unfold online. She was the class historian for Duke's 2026 PA cohort, giving her a particularly close connection to the students, class activities and events surrounding their training.

That made Murdock's apparent place in the online version of the class difficult for Lee to reconcile with her own experience. Lee said she knew the members of her cohort and had never heard of Murdock as a fellow student, despite Murdock's posts creating the impression that she had spent years completing the same demanding programme.

Lee Says Murdock Followed Her Online

The story became more striking when Lee began documenting her clinical year on social media. Lee said Murdock followed her Instagram account and later appeared to post about some of the same types of clinical rotations that Lee had been documenting herself.

Lee identified psychiatry, OB-GYN and family medicine among the areas where she noticed apparent similarities. She also questioned the timing, although PA students do not necessarily complete their clinical placements at exactly the same point, meaning the overlap alone does not establish that Murdock copied Lee's experiences or content.

Graduation Photos Added More Questions

Murdock's supposed graduation posts brought another layer of scrutiny. She shared photographs and emotional messages about sacrifices, setbacks, late nights and finally reaching graduation, portraying herself as someone who had completed the Duke PA journey.

Duke Health later said it could find no record of Murdock having applied to or attended its Physician Assistant programme. Students also pointed to apparent inconsistencies in her graduation images, including the colour of her hood, while she was reportedly absent from the official class photograph and was not recognised by members of the cohort.

Her PA Student Image Extended Beyond Instagram

Murdock's online persona was detailed enough to create the appearance of an established healthcare training journey. Her content reportedly included scrubs, study material and 'Get Ready With Me' videos connected to supposed clinical rotations, helping create a consistent picture for followers.

That image also appeared during her television career. Murdock appeared in the 2025 revival of Netflix's Temptation Island, where her occupation was presented as a PA school student, adding another public reference to the professional identity she had already displayed online.

Her Academic and Career Claims Also Faced Scrutiny

The Duke controversy prompted questions about other parts of Murdock's public biography. She had presented herself as a licensed real estate professional in North Carolina and Georgia, but searches reportedly did not substantiate those claims, while Howard Hanna Allen Tate said it had never employed her.

Her university history also came under examination after she claimed to have completed a double major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The university reportedly confirmed that Murdock attended but did not graduate, contradicting that public claim and adding another disputed element to her carefully presented success story.

Lee's Account Added a Personal Dimension

For Lee, the issue was more than a stranger making questionable claims about attending the same university. PA training is demanding, and the suggestion that someone may have followed her publicly documented clinical journey made the situation particularly uncomfortable.

Still, there is an important distinction between an apparent similarity and proof of deliberate copying. Lee's account establishes that she noticed the alleged following and similarities, but there is currently no independent evidence proving that Murdock intentionally copied Lee's content or deliberately presented Lee's personal experiences as her own.
