Netflix reality personality Angel Victoria Murdock is facing viral accusations that she spent roughly two years presenting herself online as a Duke University physician assistant student despite allegedly never being enrolled in the programme.

The claims surfaced on Reddit on 20 August, when a user who said they had just graduated from Duke's Physician Assistant Program questioned Murdock's years of student content and recent graduation photographs. The post quickly attracted thousands of upvotes, turning the Temptation Island alum's reported academic background into an online mystery.

The poster claimed members of Duke's PA programme became suspicious after encountering Murdock's social media content despite saying they had never seen her in their cohort. Questions intensified after Murdock posted graduation photographs outside Duke Chapel shortly after the university's Class of 2026 held its hooding ceremony there on 7 August. Fashion Times has not independently confirmed whether Murdock was enrolled at Duke, and neither Murdock nor the university appeared to have publicly addressed the central allegation at the time of publication.

Reddit Post Questions Murdock's PA School Content

Murdock appeared on Netflix's 2025 revival of Temptation Island, where she joined the cast as one of the singles attempting to test the relationships of participating couples. During the show's run, she was publicly described as a physician assistant school student as well as an Airbnb host. According to the Reddit poster, her academic content first caught the attention of members of Duke's programme last year.

The poster wrote that students eventually realised 'none of us had ever even seen her. Not in class, not on campus, not at program events'. They alleged that Murdock had posted content about studying, clinical rotations and what she carried in her PA school bag, creating what appeared to be an ongoing record of life as a physician assistant student. The poster further claimed some students were blocked after attempting to interact with Murdock online.

Her graduation photographs became another focus of the discussion after she posed outside Duke Chapel in academic dress. The Reddit poster alleged that the images appeared soon after the Class of 2026 completed the programme, prompting renewed questions from students who said they did not recognise her. Publicly available Duke pages do not provide a complete roster of the graduating class that could independently verify the claim.

Murdock's Instagram account appeared to disappear as the allegations spread, while a YouTube video linked by Reddit users on 20 August was no longer publicly accessible when Fashion Times checked on 21 August.

Inside Duke's Two-Year PA Programme

Duke University's Master of Health Sciences physician assistant programme takes two years to complete and combines medical science, clinical medicine and supervised clinical training. The university said 89 members of the Class of 2026 received white coats in June 2025 as they transitioned from classroom-based education into clinical rotations. That cohort completed its Graduate Hooding and Awards Ceremony at Duke Chapel on 7 August.

The professional responsibilities attached to that training have helped explain why the allegations have generated such strong reactions among self-identified physician assistants and students online. Speaking at the Class of 2026 white coat ceremony, then-programme director Jacqueline Barnett told students, 'Your white coat will suggest to patients that you can be trusted'. The Reddit poster similarly described completing PA school as 'literally one of the hardest things you have ever done in your life', arguing that the alleged situation was upsetting to people who had completed the programme.

What Remains Unconfirmed

The Reddit discussion has also pointed users towards the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, which operates a public system for verifying whether someone holds current PA certification. However, certification status cannot independently establish whether somebody attended a particular university, and newly graduated students may still be working towards certification. There is also no publicly verified evidence that Murdock has treated patients or sought employment while falsely claiming to be a certified physician assistant.

For now, Murdock's years of PA-related content, her recent graduation imagery and the account from someone claiming to belong to Duke's graduating cohort have turned the allegations into a rapidly spreading influencer controversy. The unanswered question is also the most important one: whether she was ever enrolled in Duke's Physician Assistant Program. Until Murdock or Duke directly addresses that claim, it remains unconfirmed.
