For most of her life, Heidi Klum's daughter Lou has stayed out of the public eye. Then, on 3 October, the 16-year-old made her first appearance at Paris Fashion Week, and online fans quickly praised her looks and poise.

The trip was a gift. Heidi called it a 'little early birthday present,' with Lou turning 17 on 9 October, and chose the Vivienne Westwood show for her daughter's first fashion week.
She told British Vogue that Vivienne Westwood and creative director Andreas Kronthaler are close to her heart, so it felt like the right place to start. The 53-year-old knows the scene well and had walked the Ottolinger runway the day before.

Lou did not walk the runway herself. She took a front-row seat in an acid-wash pink denim set: a corset-style top with a flared peplum and an asymmetric mini skirt. Floral platform shoes and a snakeskin-print shoulder bag completed a look that nodded to Westwood's punk-meets-couture style.
Heidi matched her without copying her, wearing a sculptural white blazer and a long white skirt. The pair later appeared together at the BoF500 Gala, one of Lou's first major industry outings.
Lou's 'Totally Nervous' Admission
Behind the polished photos, Lou admits she was 'totally nervous.' In her British Vogue interview, she said she has been photographed since childhood because of her famous family, but a real fashion event felt different. It gave her the chance to show people who she is, rather than simply being photographed because of her parents.
She also said she does not necessarily go to her siblings for fashion advice. Watching them build their own careers does give her confidence, though, because they all grew up in the same world.
