Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon may have very different red carpet styles, but their makeup artists have revealed one surprisingly similar step in their beauty routines: the same Beauty Pie serum.

Celebrity makeup artists Tonya Brewer and Tracey Levy have both used Beauty Pie's Triple Hyaluronic Acid & Lipopeptide Serum to prepare the actresses' skin for major appearances, as part of their pre-makeup skin-preparation routines.

The £49 ($65) serum contains hyaluronic acid in three molecular weights and is designed to provide lightweight hydration with a dewy finish. Beauty Pie members can purchase it at a lower price through the brand's membership pricing.

The shared beauty step is particularly notable because the artists used the serum for two very different celebrity looks: Hudson's retro-inspired glamour at the 2026 Actor Awards and Witherspoon's fresh beauty look at the Elle premiere.

Kate Hudson's Glowing Awards Look

For Hudson's appearance at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA, Brewer created a 1960s-inspired beauty look built around luminous skin, fluttery lashes and a peachy-pink flush.

The Beauty Pie serum was among the products used to prepare Hudson's complexion before makeup was applied. Brewer paired it with the brand's Triple Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Miracle Cream and Wonderfilter Brightening Primer, followed by the Superluminous Tinted Skin Glow Serum for an additional glow.

Brewer also used Beauty Pie's Triple Hyaluronic Acid Elastic Lifting Eye Serum as part of Hudson's preparation. The finished look was deliberately radiant rather than matte, complementing the rest of the makeup.

'Kate looked absolutely perfect, and I love collaborating with Beauty Pie,' Brewer said in a press release.

Hudson's finished look was subsequently highlighted by beauty publications covering the best looks from the Actor Awards, where her glowing skin was paired with rosy cheeks, shimmering eyes and glossy pink lips.

Reese Witherspoon's Shared Beauty Step

Months later, the same Beauty Pie serum appeared in another Hollywood beauty routine when Levy prepared Reese Witherspoon for the premiere of Elle.

Levy used the Triple Hyaluronic Acid & Lipopeptide Serum alongside other Beauty Pie skincare and makeup products as she created Witherspoon's luminous complexion for the event. The routine also included the brand's Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin Cream and Wonderfilter Primer.

The serum was one part of a wider preparation rather than the sole product behind the finished look.

Beauty Pie says its serum contains three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid and is designed to provide hydration while leaving a lightweight, dewy finish. Beauty Pie cites a four-week external user trial involving 56 women, in which 88 per cent said their skin appeared healthier and 82 per cent said it looked firmer.

Those figures are brand-reported results from an external user trial and are not evidence of the serum's effect on Hudson or Witherspoon specifically.

Beauty Pie says the serum should be applied to clean skin before moisturiser and sunscreen, while contemporary product coverage notes that it can also be worn beneath makeup.

For professional makeup artists, its appeal appears particularly practical as part of a broader skin-preparation routine.

For Hudson, the serum formed part of a glowing 1960s-inspired awards look; for Witherspoon, it was one of several Beauty Pie products used to prepare a fresh, luminous premiere complexion.

Different actresses, different events, but one shared skincare step before the cameras arrived.
