Kim Kardashian transformed into her 13-year-old daughter North West for Halloween, recreating the teenager's blue hair, fake facial piercings and gothic-inspired wardrobe. The SKIMS co-founder unveiled the costume on Instagram on Tuesday, 20 October, more than a week before Halloween, alongside photographs and videos of her daughter-inspired makeover.
The reveal came six days after North rejected online comments describing her fashion as 'demonic' during a livestream with her mother on 14 October. Kardashian's costume borrowed several accessories from North's recent looks, including black grills, exaggerated nails, and facial jewellery.
Kim Recreates North West's Blue Hair and Gothic Jewellery
Kardashian wore a waist-length turquoise wig, dramatic lashes and decorative studs across her face to mimic her eldest child's instantly recognisable style. Her outfit featured an oversized black graphic T-shirt layered over striped sleeves, a pleated skirt, chunky trainers and spiked accessories. She finished the look with a skull pendant, black grills and long, intricately decorated nails. The jewellery and black-and-silver manicure mirrored details North regularly features in videos and photographs of her outfits.
The reality star also copied North's familiar poses, covering part of her face with one hand in pictures shared with her followers. She captioned the Instagram carousel 'Halloween 2026', offering no lengthy explanation for her costume choice. Her sister, Khloé Kardashian, joined the conversation, writing 'Twins!!!!!!', while other commenters initially mistook the person in the photos for North.
Why Did North West Reject 'Demonic' Style Criticism?
During the 14 October TikTok livestream, North pushed back against comments linking her alternative fashion choices to something sinister. 'Stop saying I'm demonic. No, I'm not,' she said, before urging viewers not to judge her character simply because of the way she dresses.
The teenager also said she believes in Jesus and questioned why people connected her clothes and accessories with religion. During the same broadcast, she called Halloween her favourite holiday and said she enjoyed improving her costumes each year.

Kardashian suggested that the criticism might stem from North's black grills and piercings, but North challenged that assumption.'I don't think people really get it. But do you care?' Kardashian asked her daughter during the discussion.
North also clarified that the facial piercings visible in her recent looks were temporary, explaining that she changes them frequently. Although she has expressed interest in a real bridge piercing, she has said she is not currently allowed to get one.
Kim Kardashian's Costume Follows Her Defence of North's Style
Kardashian has publicly said North's interest in dramatic accessories began long before her teenage years. During the livestream, she recalled her daughter experimenting with fake eyebrow and septum jewellery as a young child. She also defended North's individuality while maintaining boundaries around permanent piercings.
North's developing aesthetic extends beyond her TikTok videos. In a September interview, the young rapper said, 'All I want is blue hair and piercings,' and identified virtual pop star Hatsune Miku as an inspiration for her hairstyle. North has also explained that she sometimes wears wigs because bleaching damaged her natural hair. Her six-track debut EP, N0rth4evr, released in May 2026, mixes rap, emo, hyperpop and rock.

Mother and daughter have previously made Halloween a shared fashion project, dressing as Cher and Dionne from the 1995 film Clueless in 2023. In 2025, they joined Kris Jenner to dress as TikTok personalities Jay Guapõ, Pink Cardigan and Chrissy G. This 2026, Kardashian's costume places North herself, rather than a film character or another internet personality, at the centre of the family's Halloween tradition.
