Victoria Beckham has called paper napkins an 'unforgivable sin' while promoting her first homeware collection, which includes a 12-piece dinnerware set priced at £239 ($317). The former Spice Girls singer shared her hosting rules in an Instagram video as her collaboration with German interiors retailer Westwing launched on Monday, 12 October 2026.
'One unforgivable sin: Paper napkins. It's just not acceptable,' the 52-year-old designer declared in the promotional clip. Her new range includes embroidered linen napkins costing £59.99 ($80) for a set of four, offering a reusable alternative to the disposable kind.
Victoria Beckham's Rules for Hosting Dinner Parties
Beckham went further than simply disapproving of paper napkins, suggesting she would not attend a dinner party where they were used. She also told viewers that mobile phones should never be placed on the table during a meal. The designer called the habit inelegant and raised concerns about the germs carried by phones.
Her husband, former England football captain David Beckham, apparently has a different approach to dinner party etiquette. Victoria joked that when he wants visitors to leave, he walks around the room blowing out candles in the hope they will take the hint. She shared the anecdote while seated at a table laid with the new collection, turning her household preferences into part of the launch campaign.
Beckham's attention to detail also extends to everyday cutlery. 'The weight is important. It's got to function,' she explained while discussing the design of a fork in another promotional video. She said even ordinary household objects deserve careful consideration because they are used every day.
What Is Included in Victoria Beckham's Westwing Collection?
The collection features porcelain plates, cutlery, glassware, table linens and decorative accessories designed for dining and entertaining. Its Dover dinnerware set contains 12 pieces for four people: four dinner plates, four pasta plates and four breakfast plates. The off-white porcelain pieces have raised chain-pattern detailing drawn from Beckham's fashion designs.
Other products include hammered stainless steel cutlery, mouth-blown champagne coupes and shell-shaped butter dishes. Selected accessories start at £54.99 ($73), while a set of four Dover linen dinner napkins costs £59.99. The range is available exclusively through Westwing, which launched its UK business in February 2026.
The chain design carries a personal connection to the Beckham household. According to Westwing, it was originally inspired by the strap of a vintage watch belonging to David and later became a recurring motif across Victoria's clothing and accessories. The collection also draws on Britain's 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement, combining textured metals with sculptural shapes and a palette of white, silver and hunter green.
Beckham Brings Her Fashion Signature to the Table
Victoria Beckham established her namesake fashion label in 2008 after her years as Posh Spice and later expanded into beauty. The Westwing partnership is her debut homeware collection, extending her design approach into objects used at family meals and dinner parties. Its 'Serving Style' concept presents table settings as another expression of personal style.
'Home is where some of life's most meaningful moments happen,' Beckham said in the collection's launch announcement. She explained that the project allowed her to bring the same attention to craftsmanship and detail found in her fashion business into the home. The brand has also designed special packaging intended to be kept and reused for storage.
Beckham has emphasised that the pieces should work in everyday life rather than simply look attractive. Westwing describes the designs as suitable for occasions ranging from ordinary meals to formal gatherings. Her stance on paper napkins, however, leaves little doubt about which kind she would choose to put beside the plates.
