Kristen Wiig had fans doing a double take after stepping out with Pedro Pascal, Dua Lipa and Nicole Kidman at Chanel's Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week.

The actress turned heads in a striking black Chanel look as she joined the star-studded front row at the Grand Palais in Paris on Monday, October 5. But it was a video of Wiig, Pascal, Lipa and Kidman singing along to ADÉLA's 'Nicole Kidman' that really got social media talking.

Wiig appeared in the clip with her hair styled in a darker brunette shade, a change from the blonde look many fans associate with her. She paired the new hairstyle with a fitted black strapless dress featuring Chanel's signature double-C motif, completing the look with red-and-black heels.

Fans Were Surprised To See Kristen Wiig

The reaction on Reddit was less about the song at first and more about whether viewers could actually recognise Wiig. One highly upvoted commenter bluntly wrote, 'That does not look like Kristen Wiig', while another admitted they had to go back and watch the video after their brain 'didn't register' that it was her.

Several commenters compared Wiig's appearance to other actresses. One said they initially thought she was Vera Farmiga, while others mentioned Jennifer Aniston, Kate Beckinsale, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt and Liz Hurley.

Not everyone was confused, however. One commenter said, 'I knew it was her as soon I saw her', while another insisted that Wiig 'literally looks the same'.

The conversation eventually turned more complimentary, with one fan calling her 'such an underrated baddie' and another praising her as someone who always seems eager to join in and match everyone else's energy.

That sentiment was echoed by commenters discussing Wiig's personality. One Reddit user said she appeared 'so fun in real life', while another recalled watching an interview featuring Wiig and Sandra Bullock and said it made them want to be friends with the actress.

Why They Were Singing 'Nicole Kidman'

The unlikely soundtrack also had a connection to the woman sitting alongside them. ADÉLA's 'Nicole Kidman' is a track from the Slovak pop star's debut album, PRIMA. The song has become a breakout hit, reaching the Billboard Hot 100 and climbing as high as No. 11, while its music video pays tribute to several of Kidman's most recognisable roles and screen moments.

ADÉLA also sought Kidman's permission to use her full name for the song. Kidman approved the idea and subsequently supported the track, including sharing its music video and using the song in her own social media posts.

The Chanel moment offered an unusually star-studded sing-along, with Kidman herself sitting among some of Hollywood's biggest names as they enjoyed a song written about her.

Wiig Certainly Made an Impression

The Paris Fashion Week event brought together plenty of other major celebrities, but the unexpected combination of Wiig, Pascal, Lipa and Kidman quickly became one of the more playful moments from the show.

For many viewers, though, it was Wiig's new look that stole the attention.

Whether fans immediately recognised her or had to take a second look, the actress certainly succeeded in making an impression.
