Law Roach is taking his fashion expertise from Hollywood's biggest red carpets to the wardrobes of millions of shoppers after landing a major new role with ASOS.
The celebrity stylist, best known for his transformative work with stars including Zendaya, Celine Dion, Ariana Grande and Anya Taylor-Joy, has been appointed the British retailer's first-ever Stylist in Residence. The new role will see him help shape ASOS' fashion direction while showing customers not simply what to buy, but how to wear it.
The partnership officially launched on 19 September, with Roach's creative work rolling out across campaigns, styling content and cultural projects. His first major assignment is the relaunch of ASOS Magazine, for which he has styled six covers that will each inspire a shoppable edit.
From Zendaya's Stylist to ASOS' Style Expert
Roach's appointment represents a significant expansion of his reach.
For years, his work has centred on creating distinctive images for some of the world's most recognisable stars. His collaboration with Zendaya, in particular, has become synonymous with carefully constructed red-carpet fashion, while his client list has also included Celine Dion, Ariana Grande and Anya Taylor-Joy.
He was also the first recipient of the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Stylist Award, cementing his position within the fashion industry.
Now, instead of dressing one celebrity for a premiere or awards ceremony, Roach will be helping ASOS customers understand the thinking behind a look and how individual pieces can work together.
That gives his new role a much broader remit than traditional celebrity styling.
Why ASOS Wants To Show Shoppers How To Dress
The appointment comes as ASOS attempts to tackle a problem identified in its own customer research: having plenty of choice does not necessarily make getting dressed easier.
Research commissioned by the retailer found that 68 per cent of consumers say knowing what to buy is easier than knowing how to wear it.
That insight sits at the heart of ASOS' 'The Stylist' strategy.
Rather than simply presenting shoppers with hundreds of new products, the retailer is putting greater emphasis on outfit-building, styling advice and helping customers develop their own point of view.
Roach will interpret each season through his own creative lens, with his work designed to help shoppers understand how key pieces can be worn and adapted to suit their individual style.
It is a notable shift for an online fashion retailer: the emphasis moves from product discovery towards fashion guidance.
Six Covers, Six Ways To Style the Season
The first major showcase of the partnership will arrive through the relaunch of ASOS Magazine.
Roach has styled six covers, with each one feeding into a shoppable edit curated by ASOS. The idea is to turn the creative styling behind an editorial image into something customers can explore and shop for themselves.
The six edits cover several distinct fashion directions, including maximalist dressing, statement tailoring, elevated layering and modern interpretations of heritage influences.
That variety is important to Roach's role because the aim is not to impose one particular aesthetic on ASOS shoppers. Instead, the collaboration is intended to demonstrate different ways of approaching the season.
For customers, that means seeing the styling choices behind a finished look rather than simply being presented with individual garments.
Turning Celebrity Styling Into Everyday Fashion
The real challenge, and opportunity, for Roach is translating the drama of celebrity dressing into something that works beyond the red carpet.
His work with high-profile clients is built around image, storytelling and individuality. At ASOS, those principles are being applied to a much larger audience.
Roach has described fashion as a way of transforming how people see themselves and how they present themselves to the world. He said the opportunity with ASOS is about helping more people discover their own point of view through style.
That philosophy fits closely with the retailer's stated ambition to help customers discover what works for them, understand how to wear it and make it their own.
ASOS Is Building a Bigger Styling Platform
The Law Roach appointment is also part of a broader attempt by ASOS to position itself as a source of styling expertise rather than simply a destination for online shopping.
The retailer has already been developing outfit-led merchandising and style-focused tools, while its autumn 2026 activity has placed greater emphasis on editorial inspiration and practical fashion advice.
The partnership will also extend into London Fashion Week, with ASOS working with Lyas on 'La Watch Party,' bringing fashion commentary and community-led coverage into the event.
For Roach, it means taking a styling philosophy associated with global celebrities and applying it to an audience on a dramatically larger scale. For ASOS, it means trying to answer a deceptively simple fashion question: once shoppers know what they want to buy, can the retailer also teach them how to make it their own?
With Roach now helping shape that answer, the stylist's next red-carpet moment may not belong to a celebrity at all, it could belong to the ASOS customer standing in front of their wardrobe.
