Lori Loughlin is marking a new chapter in her life with a pair of jeans called the 'Ex-Husband Jean', which launched just weeks after she filed for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli. The actress has teamed up with longtime friend and designer Laurie Felt for a new clothing collection that puts comfort, confidence and reinvention at the forefront.
The 62-year-old's Lola by Laurie Felt collection launched on QVC on 5 October, featuring four pieces ranging from relaxed denim to cosy knitwear. But it is the aptly named Ex-Husband Jean that is likely to get the most attention, thanks to its particularly timely name.
A Playful Take on Life's Big Changes
Despite the playful title, Loughlin says the jeans are not intended as a dig at her estranged husband. Instead, she described the style as 'a symbol of starting over', making it a metaphor for anyone entering a new chapter of their life.

That message carries extra weight given Loughlin's own circumstances this year. She filed for divorce from fashion designer Giannulli in September, nearly three decades after the pair married in 1997, and they share daughters Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade.
The actress has nevertheless spoken about approaching this stage of her life with a renewed sense of curiosity and optimism. In her interview with PEOPLE, Loughlin explained that she has reached a point where she is willing to take chances rather than place limitations on herself.
'I'm at this point where I'm like, well, why not?' she said. 'I can learn something new, I can try something new.' That attitude appears to have informed her move into fashion, as well as the wider message behind her new collection.
The Boyfriend Jean Gets a 'Glow-Up'
The Ex-Husband Jean gives the classic boyfriend jean a more polished update, with a vintage-inspired straight-leg silhouette designed to work for both casual and dressier occasions. Felt described the style as being like the 'boyfriend jean had a glow-up', while Loughlin suggested it could represent everything from the end of a marriage to another major life transition.
The name was reportedly born from a lighthearted conversation between Loughlin and Felt, rather than being created specifically as a reference to Loughlin's divorce. Felt has also pointed to other forms of starting over, including becoming an empty nester, as examples of the kind of transition the jeans can represent.
The Collection Puts Comfort First
The denim can be styled with sneakers for a more relaxed look or dressed up with heels, giving it the versatility the friends wanted for the collection. At $90 (£69), reduced from $99 (£75), the jeans combine a feminine feel with the easygoing appeal of classic boyfriend-style denim.
The Ex-Husband Jean is joined by three other pieces in the four-item capsule, including the Wide-Leg Relaxed Jean, which is designed to feel more like a pair of sweatpants. There is also a relaxed V-neck sweater and a festive Chalet Cardigan, which Loughlin likened to something from a Hallmark movie.
For Loughlin, however, the collection is about more than creating comfortable clothes. She hopes the pieces encourage women to keep embracing life, trying new things and refusing to believe that they have reached an age where reinvention is no longer possible.

That makes the cheeky denim name feel rather more meaningful than its initial punchline suggests. While 'Ex-Husband Jean' may grab attention because of its connection to Loughlin's very public new chapter, its underlying message is ultimately about moving forward and dressing for whatever comes next.
