Fans who have dreamed of dressing like Miranda Priestly finally have their chance. Meryl Streep has teamed up with Christie's to auction some of the most memorable wardrobe pieces from The Devil Wears Prada 2, allowing collectors and fashion lovers to own a genuine piece of the blockbuster sequel while raising money for charity.

The online sale runs from 1 September to 15 September, with proceeds supporting the Committee to Protect Journalists and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. It turns one of cinema's most famous wardrobes into something far bigger than a collector's event, giving every winning bid a meaningful purpose.

Miranda Priestly's Closet Opens to Fans

The charity auction features an impressive collection of costumes and accessories worn throughout The Devil Wears Prada 2. Several of the film's standout fashion moments will be available, making this one of the biggest movie wardrobe auctions in recent years.

Among the highlights are Miranda Priestly's Dries Van Noten tassel jacket, a black and white Schiaparelli jacket, Andy Sachs's signature cerulean knitwear and patchwork Gabriela Hearst dress, plus designer pieces worn by Emily Blunt's Emily Charlton and Simone Ashley's character. Lady Gaga's feather dress from the fictional 'Runway' music video is also included.

The Collection Goes on Display

Before bidding closes, fans will be able to admire many of the pieces in person. Christie's New York will host a free public exhibition from 8 September until 13 September during New York Fashion Week.

The exhibition will sit alongside Handbags Online: The September Edit, giving visitors a close look at the famous costumes before they disappear into private collections. A special invitation only cocktail party and live charity auction will also take place on 10 September, featuring additional fashion inspired experiences.

The Standout Auction Pieces

Several items stand out because of their connection to memorable scenes from the film. One of the most talked about lots is the Gabriela Hearst Niki dress worn by Anne Hathaway's Andy Sachs during the Hamptons sequence, complete with the stain seen on screen.

Collectors can also bid on signed Valentino Garavani Rockstud pumps worn by Miranda Priestly, a Vhernier necklace and ring, Dolce & Gabbana looks featured during the Milan fashion show scenes and Emily Charlton's Dior suit. More pieces could still be added before the auction begins.

Supporting Two Important Causes

The auction reflects two of the central themes explored in The Devil Wears Prada 2. While the sequel returns to the glamorous world of Runway magazine, it also follows the struggles facing print journalism in today's changing media landscape.

Money raised will support the Committee to Protect Journalists, which promotes press freedom and journalist safety around the world. The Council of Fashion Designers of America will also benefit, helping nurture future designers through grants, mentoring and industry programmes.

Streep Encourages Fans To Bid

Streep personally backed the auction and encouraged fans around the world to take part. In a statement, she invited supporters to 'celebrate truth and beauty, beauty and truth' by bidding on the collection of shoes, handbags, gowns and memorable experiences.

Christie's President for the Americas, Julien Pradels, said the partnership transforms excitement surrounding the film into support for important causes.

CPJ chief executive Jodie Ginsberg described the fundraiser as especially meaningful at a time when protecting journalists remains increasingly important across the globe.

The Sequel Keeps Breaking Records

The auction arrives as The Devil Wears Prada 2 continues enjoying enormous success beyond cinemas. The sequel reunited Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci nearly two decades after the original became a cultural phenomenon.

After earning around £516 million ($691 million) worldwide at the global box office, the film also became a streaming success on Disney+ and Hulu. It attracted 15.2 million viewers worldwide within its first five days, making it the biggest live action film premiere on the platforms since Deadpool & Wolverine.

For many fans, owning a piece of Miranda Priestly's wardrobe is the ultimate souvenir from one of the year's biggest films. Thanks to Streep's latest charity effort, those iconic designer looks will now continue their story long after the credits rolled, while helping support journalism and fashion for years to come.
