Miranda Kerr four sons
Miranda Kerr reveals why she turned down the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show despite returning to the runway for Stella McCartney weeks earlier @mirandakerr/Instagram

'Everyone's in their underwear. I'm 43. I have four boys.' Those were among the thoughts Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr had when she imagined returning to the Victoria's Secret runway. Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast released on Tuesday, 3 November, the 43-year-old revealed that she declined an invitation to walk in the brand's 2026 fashion show after the prospect left her anxious.

The invitation would have reunited Kerr with the runway that helped define her modelling career, two decades after her debut in 2006. The show took place in Los Angeles on 18 October, but Kerr was absent despite initially being excited about the opportunity. She said her unease did not go away even after she tried to work through it with meditation.

Why Did Miranda Kerr Turn Down Victoria's Secret?

Kerr said she seriously considered the invitation, recalling the playful memories she had made during her years as a Victoria's Secret Angel. However, her excitement turned into anxiety when she pictured herself walking the runway in lingerie again. 'I'm 43. I have four boys,' she said, reflecting on how different her life is now. Now raising four sons, Flynn, Hart, Myles and Pierre, Kerr was weighing the experience against how she felt about herself and her life nearly 14 years after her last Victoria's Secret show.

The thought left her with 'this knot in my stomach', a feeling that persisted despite her attempts to ease it through meditation. She then imagined what would happen if she declined the invitation instead. According to Kerr, the tension lifted when she took the show off the table, helping her realise that turning down the opportunity was the right decision despite encouragement from those around her.

The Los Angeles setting had initially appealed to Kerr, who was also excited about potentially reuniting with former colleagues, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She had fond memories of the shows and the friendships she formed during her time with the brand. However, she explained that the opportunity no longer felt right for her.

A Different Feeling at Stella McCartney

Kerr's decision did not mean she had given up runway modelling. On 30 September, she appeared in Stella McCartney's spring/summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week, making her first catwalk appearance in nearly a decade. She wore a seafoam green dress with a knotted waist, cutouts and structured shoulders.

That experience felt more comfortable to her than the Victoria's Secret invitation. During the podcast, Kerr contrasted her enthusiasm for McCartney's show with the unease she felt about modelling lingerie again. She explained that her decision reflected where she is now rather than a loss of affection for the shows she once walked.

Alongside her modelling work, Kerr runs KORA Organics, the skincare company she launched in Australia in 2009. She is also raising Flynn, Hart, Myles and Pierre. Her comments reflected how her priorities and feelings about modelling opportunities have evolved since her Victoria's Secret years.

Twenty Years of Victoria's Secret Memories

Kerr first walked for Victoria's Secret in 2006 and became an official Angel in 2007. She appeared in six of the brand's fashion shows, with her final walk taking place in 2012. Her runway history also includes wearing the brand's Fantasy Treasure Bra in 2011, one of the show's signature lingerie creations.

Ahead of the 2026 show, Kerr shared throwback photographs on Instagram and thanked those who had been part of that period of her career. She said she had decided to 'cherish this chapter as it was', rather than return for the anniversary. The post made clear that declining the invitation was not a rejection of her years with the brand.

On the podcast, Kerr said she felt humbled and honoured to have been invited back at 43. She also spoke fondly of the women she used to work with, although the prospect of rejoining them was not enough to persuade her. As she explained, 'that was then, and this is now', and she is at a different stage of her life.
