Ms Rachel spent much of her career creating bright, comforting videos for young children. But alongside her work, the children's educator has also used her enormous platform to speak about children living through war, particularly those in Gaza. Now, she has shared a heartbreaking account that has given her advocacy an even more personal dimension.

The Songs for Littles star said she recently learned that some mothers in Gaza played her videos for their children during medical procedures performed without anaesthesia. The revelation, which she shared on Instagram, comes as reports continue to document the devastating conditions facing Gaza's healthcare system and the children caught in the conflict.

How Ms Rachel's Videos Are Helping the Kids

Ms Rachel recently posted on Instagram about what she described as the world moving on too quickly from the suffering of children who have undergone amputations without anaesthesia.

'We moved on too fast from children in Gaza having to undergo amputations without anesthesia because it was blocked by the Israeli government,' she wrote.

She then shared what a doctor who had worked in Gaza reportedly told her.

'I recently found out... that some mothers played my videos during procedures without anesthesia to distract their children,' Ms Rachel said. 'My heart is forever broken.'

In the caption, she questioned why the issue was not receiving more attention, pointing to a recent report from the UN Commission of Inquiry on the impact of the conflict on children. She wrote: 'Everyone and every country isn't demanding the killing stop? There's no accountability?'

Her comments come as medical workers continue to describe the extreme conditions inside Gaza. A report published this week by The New Arab detailed doctors carrying out procedures on children without adequate anaesthetic or pain relief amid shortages of medical supplies.

When Ms Rachel Wore Gaza Children's Art

Ms Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, is an early childhood educator and entertainer. She is best known for Songs for Littles, a series of educational videos designed to help young children learn language and communication skills.

Her audience has grown into the millions, giving her a particularly unusual platform when discussing children's rights. She has increasingly used that reach to draw attention to children affected by war, including those in Gaza and Sudan.

Her advocacy has also made its way into major public appearances. At Glamour's 2025 Women of the Year Awards, Ms Rachel wore a custom dress featuring artwork created by children in Gaza. The drawings were embroidered onto the upcycled gown, turning her red-carpet appearance into a tribute to children affected by the conflict.

Global Push for Children's Rights

Ms Rachel's support for children in Gaza has included fundraising as well as social media advocacy. In 2024, she offered personalised videos through Cameo, with proceeds going to Save the Children's Emergency Fund for kids affected by conflicts in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

She has also met Palestinian children affected by the war. In 2025, she met a three-year-old girl from Gaza who had lost both legs and shared a video with her.

Her wider message has remained focused on children's rights, regardless of where they are born. Speaking to Glamour, Ms Rachel said her care for children extends beyond her own country and that children should have human rights.
