A mum was shocked to find more than £8,000 in cash and two mobile phones hidden in her teenage daughter's wardrobe. The surprising find, which also included brand-new Prada shoes, left her questioning how her 16-year-old could afford such an expensive lifestyle.
The discovery quickly turned into a heated confrontation, with the mother demanding to know where the money came from while her daughter questioned why she was searching through her belongings. Their exchange also caught the attention of social media users, who had plenty of theories about the teenager's mysterious source of income.
Mum Finds Cash and Prada Shoes
The viral clip was posted by TikTok user @ashleytvshow, showing the mother going through her daughter's belongings. Among the items she found were $12,000 (approximately £8,950), two mobile phones and brand-new Prada shoes.
The mum was understandably surprised by the amount of money her daughter had hidden away, especially given her age. 'What is this? What are you doing?' she asked, questioning how her teenage daughter could afford the designer purchases and such a large amount of cash without her knowledge.
However, her daughter seemed more concerned about the wardrobe search than explaining where the money came from. She repeatedly challenged her mother for going through her personal belongings, saying: 'Why are you going through my closet?'
Teen's Response Raises More Questions
Things became more heated when the mother started questioning whether her daughter had been involved in illegal activities to make the money. She even threatened to call the police, warning the teenager that she could end up in jail.
But instead of giving a straightforward explanation, the 16-year-old responded: 'That don't matter. Mama, I had to do what I had to do'. Her answer did little to reassure her mum, who continued pressing her for details.
The conversation took another turn when the mother brought up her daughter's education. The teenager admitted she had not been attending school for a considerable period and responded: 'How am I supposed to help us?'
