The story behind the viral clip took an unexpected turn, according to the mother, she explained that she was initially checked and found to be 5.5 centimetres dilated. Around three hours later, another examination showed that she had made little progress.
Then, approximately 40 minutes later, her labour intensified. Because she had recently been examined, @rosaj2771 said she did not want the nurse to check her again only to be discouraged by another assessment showing little progress. But her baby had other plans.
'Celine had her own plans and no one was ready,' she joked at her caption.
She added that the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) team was already on its way because the baby had passed meconium before birth. The team needed to assess the newborn, and its members arrived to find the unexpected scene unfolding.
Meconium is a baby's first stool. When it is passed before birth, healthcare professionals assess the newborn because inhaling meconium-stained fluid can cause breathing problems in some babies. Its presence does not automatically mean complications will occur.
She credited her husband for remaining calm throughout the unexpected arrival, joking that she did not know how he managed to stay so composed. The nurse even thought he worked in the medical field, she recalled. She also gave a special shoutout to their nurse, Emily, for making her labour experience a positive one.
