Jit Hong Tan spent his wedding day in a sequinned pink suit, then a black-and-gold snake-print jumpsuit, singing his heart out through multiple costume changes. He admitted to giving '113 per cent' of himself to ensure the crowd of 190 guests wouldn't overpower his performance. All of this effort was to fulfil his wife's dream of experiencing a Taylor Swift-inspired celebration.
Danielle Ng and Tan tied the knot in Singapore on 13 June, just weeks before Swift herself married Travis Kelce. The choice of date wasn't a coincidence. Fans had long speculated that Swift would marry on the 13th, her lucky number, and the couple decided to beat her to it. As Tan puts it, 'I proposed before Travis did, by the way.'
From Casual Listener to Leading Man
Ng has been a fan of Swift since her album Fearless was released in 2008. When she met Tan at university in 2015, he was, in his own words, just a casual listener. However, that changed once they started dating. By the time the pair got engaged in 2025 — the same year as Swift and Kelce — Tan was not only supportive of having an Eras Tour-themed wedding. He was ready to headline it.
The costumes played a significant role in the performance. In one number, Tan and Ng coordinated their outfits by wearing black bodysuits laced with gold serpent detailing, mirroring the Reputation era's snake motif, right down to the fishnets and studded boots. Later on, Ng changed into a dazzling teal-and-gold bodysuit paired with sparkling gold knee-high boots, while Tan switched to a shimmering pink suit with black satin lapels that added just the right touch of sophistication to keep it suitable for formal occasions.
@daniellenyq Had a crazy idea to host an Eras Tour themed wedding. So we did. Truly an incredible experience that we will cherish for the rest of our lives π #wedding #taylorswift #erastour

The Nerves Before the Noise
Tan confesses to People the pressure was real once the countdown clock hit zero and the cheering began. 'The adrenaline was kicking in, and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect', he says. 'We had to put 113 per cent into our moves and sing our hearts out, or the crowd would have completely drowned out our voices.'
That commitment carried through the entire run of performances, culminating in a wedding-party mashup of 'So High School' and 'Style'. Bridesmaid Chenlyn Tshua, who led rehearsals from March, joked she felt like she'd wandered into a concert rather than a wedding.

Was it Too Much?
Some might argue a groom cycling through three costume changes is excessive for a reception. Not every guest who arrived was a committed Swiftie either. Yet by most accounts, that didn't matter much on the night. Guests turned up in tennis whites, plaid blazers and a variety of '22' hats, fully embracing the spirit of the night, even if they had never owned a friendship bracelet before.
The rest of the day continued throughout the festivities. Tables were named after Swift songs, a scavenger hunt sent guests searching for red-coloured props, and a lip-sync battle to 'Shake It Off' crowned the best-dressed couple of the night. Guests left with keychains showing an AI-generated image of themselves alongside Ng, Tan and their dog, resembling a snapshot from the tour itself.
@daniellenyq Highly recommend having a best-dressed contest at your Eras Tour themed wedding so guests have their moment to β¨shimmerβ¨ #wedding #erastour #taylorswift

Whether this counts as devotion or theatre depends on how invested you already are in Swift's discography. For Tan, a man who went from casual listener to sequinned leading man in just a decade, there was clearly no other way to marry his lover.
