Anthony Vaccarello may have worn sleek black to the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards, but his Yves Saint Laurent muses made sure his big night came with plenty of gold. Hailey Bieber, BLACKPINK's Rosé, Zoë Kravitz, and Anja Rubik joined the Belgian designer at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Monday, each dressed in metallic looks from Saint Laurent's Spring 2027 collection. Standing together on the red carpet, the quartet looked like Vaccarello's plus-ones and 4 very glamorous trophies.

The shimmering aesthetic was particularly aligned once the real trophy arrived. Vaccarello received the International Designer of the Year Award, marking a golden curtain call after a decade at Yves Saint Laurent.

Vaccarello's Golden Girls Wear His Final Saint Laurent Collection

Bieber, Rosé, and Kravitz did more than accompany Vaccarello to the ceremony. The trio took the stage to present him with the International Designer of the Year Award, while Rubik joined the group for their gilded red carpet appearance.

Their looks came straight from Vaccarello's final collection for Saint Laurent, which made gold the perfect theme for the YSL squad.

Bieber wore an embellished high-neck look with a pencil skirt and thigh-high slit, while Rosé showed a little more skin in a cropped sleeveless top and matching skirt. Kravitz opted for a sleeveless, textured gold ensemble, finished with oversized earrings and slingback heels. Rubik completed the quartet in another metallic look, featuring a cropped blazer and below-the-knee skirt.

Despite all that gold, Vaccarello himself stayed faithful to the understated sophistication of monochromatic black, posing between his muses in a simple dark top and trousers.

Vaccarello and his muses were hardly the only bright stars of the evening. Hosted by Keke Palmer, the event also welcomed Demi Moore, Lupita Nyong'o, Naomi Osaka, Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Scott, Gracie Abrams, and PinkPantheress. The CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association representing more than 325 American designers, while its annual awards recognise excellence and achievement across the American fashion industry.

The CFDA Award Caps Vaccarello's Decade at Saint Laurent

The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced Vaccarello as its 2026 International Designer of the Year honoree. The organisation recognised his decade at Saint Laurent and what it described as his 'sustained creative conviction, global influence, and cultural relevance'.

Vaccarello stepped down as Saint Laurent's creative director in October after 10 years at the French fashion house, closing a chapter that began with his appointment in 2016. His final Spring 2027 show and the CFDA Award had already provided quite the gilded farewell.

Presented beneath the Eiffel Tower on 29 September, the collection opened with 49 looks in shades of gold before capping off with 10 in black. Brocades, pencil skirts, trenches, evening dresses, and sophisticated silhouettes filled the runway beneath towering chandeliers.

Several of those golden ideas returned at the CFDA Awards on Monday, this time on some of the women closely associated with Vaccarello's Saint Laurent years.

For a star-studded night, Yves Saint Laurent's golden era got an encore, and Anthony Vaccarello took a bow with the trophy to match.
